Hi everyone! My name is Rocio, and my fiancé’s name is Amir. We got engaged on December 26 2016.

Almost a year into our engagement and we finally started planning for our big day! We have picked July 2019 for our wedding day.  (not sure on specific day, because we want to be flexible with best offers).

So far we have the following hotels in mind (All located in Jamaica):

-          Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall

-          Azul Sensatori, Negril

-          Bahia Principe Runaway Bay

-          Sun Scape

-          Moon Palace

We are comparing prices and reviews at the moment. My first choice right now is Hyatt follow by Azul. I am seeking for tips/suggestion/comments that you might have on these locations.

Thank you all!

Hi Rocio,

Congratulations on your engagement!  Jamaica is an amazing place for a destination wedding.  The resorts you have chosen are all very different so it really depends on what you are looking for.  Azul, Hyatt and Moon Palace are the same in terms of luxury and pricing.  Azul is about 1.5 hrs from the airport so you will want to take that into consideration if guests are only coming for 3 nights.  But their beach is unbeatable.  Hyatt has an adults only section which is nice and it is only 15 min from airport.  Moon Palace will give you the most in terms of wedding perks and guests get resort credits to use for excursions and spa treatments.  This resort is also about 1.5 hrs away.

Feel free to email [email protected] to get more personalized assistance with deciding on your venue.  We never charge a fee for our services :-)

Hi Rocio,

Congratulations! You have selected a wonderful destination for your wedding! We at Wright Travel have personal experience with the resorts you are considering.

TA Babs makes some great points about the resorts. I would add that you might want to consider what activities and excursions you have in mind for yourself and your guests.

Moon Palace is very near to so many of the great attractions in Jamaica.. Dunns River Falls is just across the bay, and Rafting on the Martha Brae river, Tubing, all are nearby and convenient to get to.

From the Hyatt, you are near to and convenient to the airport and to Rose Hall area which has a very cool plantation to visit as well as beautiful golf course just across the street.

At Azul, up in Negril Beach area you have the fun Ricks Cafe nearby for a great excursion ... a place to sip a Red Stripe and jump from the cliffs into the ocean below!

We at Wright Travel are happy to discuss and help you to find your perfect resort.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
