Over A Year Later And Still No Wedding Certificate

Recommended Posts

Ok, so our wedding was in the Dominican, Punta Cana at the Huracan. Mayte was our wedding organiser and she told us that she would post our wedding certificates, along with our birth certificates which need returning to us, about 3 months after our wedding.

We are now 1 year and almost 3 months since our wedding, and still have not received our certificates and no replies from Mayte either.

I have contact the embassy in DR but they tell me its the registry office I need to speak to, but I have no idea which one!

We paid extra in order to have a legal/civil ceremony, so only really want what we paid for, but it seems like trying to get blood from a stone.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Or contact details of someone who may be able to help?

Thanks

@@chel I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. That's awful!

You don't say which resort you were married at. I know you're tried to contact your WC but is there a way to higher it up? Maybe a supervisor, or the head office of the hotel chain? Or looking online for the "district" where the resort is located in Punta Cana to see which registry office might be the one to contact?

What about contacting your travel agent? Could they help out at all? Sometimes they have access to information.

Good luck. Keep us posted on how it goes, and I'm sure if anyone else has had an issue they will step in with a reply.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
