@@deecol  Hugs to you hun, I hope you are coping ok with your loss...

I like @@deecol had a hard week as well.

My uncle passed away on Monday.  Aside from all the emotion that comes with that, it has caused a lot of drama.  Needless to say I will be the only immediate family member at his service next Friday.... my dad isn't coming until the burial at a later date.  I am just overly shocked and disappointed.  And angry at his words to me, but that is not for today.

I also started my new job (insert fear of asking for a day off already lol)....   So between 2 jobs, my uncle passing away, and full time school work I am pretty much shot. (oh and being a parent and a wife) Hate my life right now HAHAH!!!

I was able to keep my eating in check, yay!  But I did not work out twice like I had wanted, only once.

I had a great loss of 1.6, for a total of 9 lbs but I know that is muscle mass loss in there.... whenever I stop weights for a week I see a bigger loss.

I HAVE to  get to the gym atleast once this weekend and once during the week.

Please wish me luck. I feel pretty hopeless right now with what's on my plate, then the emotion of my uncle....

have a great halloween.

Oh @@calgarybride2015 my heart goes out to you. Trust me, I completely understand the family drama and it's really unfortunate that it adds to the emotion you're already feeling from your loss... Not easy.

Hang in there, here for you! Xo

@@calgarybride2015 I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle Kim, big hugs to you. And I'm so sorry to hear about the stress it's been causing you. Grief shows differently for each person and it's hard at times to understand other people's actions. I hope you're ok, feel free to message me if you need to vent

Hi Ladies,

Haven't done a check-in for a while so thought I'd pop by.

I've been keeping up with my workouts, spinning and clean eating... but I tried something a little different this week.  After going off the rails a bit a couple weekends ago, I needed a kickstart.  I saw the 3-day military diet on pinterest and then did some more of my own research.  Essentially, you eat, but not very much, for 3 days and its a form of intermittent fasting.  It's specially designed with each day having certain foods for a reason - every day you eat vanilla ice cream for dinner (I know, sounds totally weird, look it up).  I tried it out because I was curious and it was only 3 days, Day 1, I felt great and lost 2.5 lbs.  Day 2 I was lacking energy, was cranky and couldn't wait to go to sleep, and lost 1 lb.  Day 3, I successfully completed half of the diet and then ate like a normal, healthy person for the rest of the day because I was going crazy.  So all together I lost 3.5lbs and gained 1lb back when I started lifting weights and eating normally again.  I probably wouldn't do it again, I know all about healthy eating and practice it, I just wanted to try it first hand knowing that if I felt ill or anything at all to eat.  The only plus I got out of it after losing a couple lbs is that my portion size has decreased significantly.  I eat about 5 times a day and never overly large portions, but now... I couldn't even finish my breakfast this morning after spin class when I'm usually starving.

In no way am I condoning or recommending this, just wanted to give a first hand review.

Hope everyone's doing well and looking forward to the weekend!  :)

Hi ladies,

It's been a while since I checked in. I've been working out like a maniac last week and this week. Despite that, I gained a pound last week. But it's just a pound and maybe it's muscle! LOL. I am away for work again next week, so I will be struggling to eat well and workout. Trying to get a jumpstart on it now. I will take workout gear and do my best, though. Hoping my hotel rooms have a little fridge so I can just buy some yogurt & fruit for breakfast, rather than eat at the restaurant.

Not much else to report... hope you are all doing well!

Erin, you are doing great!!!  Thanks for the check in.  Good luck next week - you have a plan and that will make it a lot easier.

I was up last weekend due to Halloween and a date night with Shawn.... but as of today I am down again, so hopefully I will get a loss this week and hit the 10lbs loss mark!!!!      I have only worked out once this week - I was going to go today and did Stats instead (my final is on Saturday).. I hope to do a dance class tomorrow, then maybe weights on Sunday....  I really need to get back into a better exercise groove, but my eating has been 95-99% on.

My girlfriend who knows my struggles and the weight I gained told me yesterday she can tell I have lost 9 lbs so that help fantastic.

Keep it up ladies, with the season we are in - and the celebrations soon upon us - we can keep it up and get thru it together!!!

@@deecol you're doing so well with the workouts! And thank you for that honest review. My brother and his wife did the military diet before their wedding. They did it longer than3 days so maybe they weren't as strict? I did think they were crazy but I guess we all do crazy things before our weddings lol

@ vancouverpetunia im sure you've gained muscle mass after all the workouts. You've been doing so well, so proud of you and your motivation!

@@calgarybride2015 you're gonna look hot in Cuba!!

As for me, I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. I've been doing well with meal planning (@@yycbride2016 my wallet does thank me for this) and I've been keeping up with my workouts. Our bootcamp sessions have been so hard lately, I love it! I did miss a few workouts last week because of work but made up for it by eating better.

Yesterday, I treated myself to a cheat meal, all you can eat sushi. I thought it was the perfect time to indulge since I have my colonoscopy tomorrow (sorry in advance, this is TMI). So today is prep day when I basically don't eat all day, just drink clear liquids and set up camp in the washroom lol. My dad and grandfather died of colon cancer so we all have to be tested every 5 years. So at least I'm expecting weight loss from this lol.

I'm gonna be out of commission for the next few days but am planning to get back on track after. My bridal party and I are all trying a barre workout on Sunday so I'll let you know how that goes. On top of that I'm also going to keep ,y regular schedule of 2 bootcamp sessions and 2 Pilates. I'm at less than three months and have to keep at it!

@@deecol I'm sorry to hear about your nonno I'm sure it can't be easy to manage anything at this time so well done with getting back at it and staying accountable! And thanks for the military diet review. I've seen it pop up every now and then and it just seems too intense. I love eating all the time so in not sure I could last as long as you did.

@@vancouverpetunia nope those grapes are literally just protein powder and egg white. I literally make them everyday now. I love them so much! Well done on all the workouts. I assure you you are putting on muscle. Your weight can fluctuate significantly day to day aswell so you could have be retaining a lot of water weight too. When your muscles are sore your body stores more water to help your muscles recover which causes a temporary weight gain. You are doing great!

@@calgarybride2015 I'm so sorry to hear about your uncles passing. I hope the pain of your loss has subsided for you. I hope you get your 10lbs weight loss this week! That will be an awesome milestone! And to be eating clean 95-99% of the time is absolutely amazing! I wish I had your will power!

@waffleamom I couldn't help but laugh at your tmi post! Haha but good for you for being proactive and getting checked out regularly! I'm glad to hear you've been meal prepping! It's so helpful I find. Especially those days you don't have time to go buy lunch at work , you just have it their with you! Well done on all the workouts too! Let us know what you think of the barre class!

Ok time for my update. I'm sorry I've been so MIA for like EVER! I feel like between this new job and working out I've had no time for wedding stuff or even just jumping on here to stay accountable. So last Friday I weighed in like normal and was so upset to find I'd gained 1.1lbs :( but then I stepped on the scale on Saturday and then I lost 2.2lbs (from my previous days' gain). It just goes to show you how much your weight can fluctuate day to day. But my Saving grace from not quitting all together was Thursday night I took an update picture and I'm really noticing a difference in my muscles so that makes me happy. I think I've lost 6.5lbs?! Total since August. This week hasn't been great with my nutrition though. I spent the day at my grandmas yesterday and I don't think she knows how to cook healthy or how to not shove food down your throat haha. I love her to bits but my scale won't tomorrow when I weigh in. I've been pretty good with my workouts. I've re-discovered my love for weight lifting and it's awesome. But I've replaced my cardio with al weight lifting. I used to love cardio now I hate it haha. I think next week I might have to do a full cardio week just to get my head back in the game!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
