Acw271011 So This Is Not A Planning Thread.... But

Recommended Posts

Oh where does the time go??? Are we really almost the middle of August?

I haven't done much - I'm up to my eyeballs in financial and regulatory reporting for second quarter. I've been stalking Etsy though a bit in the evening and had pretty much decided on certain vendors for a couple of things.

So here is the earrings and necklace set I decided on (and this is the actual set):

Then I found this really cool site for cake toppers that are totally out of the ordinary. Because of our age and the fact that we're looking at retirement in a few years, plus the fact that this isn't our wedding, I saw these toppers and thought "yeah. that's us"  Totally and completely us. So this is a close photo of what ours will be. We're doing white chairs, 2 flip flops (pink and brown) and a glass of wine on one chair and a bottle of Corona on the other (which is Doug's beer). I opted out of the bucket of shells - we aren't shell collectors really. But I thought it was something just plain cool to put on the cake and different. Opinions?

Love the jewelry. I really love the offset broach. You may need to tack it down with that clothing tape as it is weighted down and they move. I opted out of this for mine based on that review but my BMs had them and it's true! Love it!!

The cake topper is gorgeous too. Even if it was your normal wedding. They are a reflection of who you are :)

do they really move?? crap (sorry). what is this tape you're talking about? I'm also going to email the vendor and see what she suggests. I'm sure she has had someone else mention it. just wish she had said something!

We had a long discussion about them in my planning thread. A bride from

Vancouver (who sadly didn't come back to review) told me. I will see if I can find a pic and post but yes it's true. You can buy clothing tape. It's double sided. I got mine at la vein rose for $10. But if you use that tape you'll be fine. Just giving you a heads up. Hope I cause no stress!! I'll send it on fb.

I did something really goofy today. I bought a dress. I'm thinking I just might do a TTD. Maybe. We'll see.... The thing is the dress was just so pretty and so CHEAP!!!!! It was just too good of a deal to pass up!

I think I might snip off the strap and make it strapless. It's ice pink and blush so something a little different. You wont believe what I paid for it.... Try $49   Yep - forty-nine dollars. If you're curious about any other deals.... just ask.

It's the same online site where I bought my dress. They're doing a thing for the whole month of August called Hot Summer Nights. Every Tuesday they post dresses then Thursday they post accessories - belts, veils - so if anyone is still looking for anything to add for your wedding it's worth a look. They're based in the US but with shipping the dress came out to just over $100. Still not a bad deal for a TTD dress. Here's the website: www.thelastminutebride.com. Oh and @@vancouverpetunia I looked at the Lulu's website and they have some really pretty dresses. Did you look?

I'm going to try this one with the strap and see how it works but I suspect it will come off.

What is the web site where you got your dresses? I looked in your thread, but didn't see it. I"m sure it's there somewhere...

I have looked at Lulu's (for BM dresses, you mean?). Nothing is jumping out at me. I feel like I've looked a million places (primarily online). Don't know why I'm such a bridezilla on this. I'm considering dresses on this site right now: www.azazie.com.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
