I have tried to get in touch with Liz Moore Destination Wedding. I have not been able to get in touch with them. No response via email and I can't reach them by phone. I hear Laurie Lee is recommended, but I went to her website and it seems like it hasn't been updated in two years. I was wondering if she is still doing DW. It is so frustrating! Does anyone have insight or can message me a travel agent in Canada? Thanks so much.

Oh no, I'm sorry they haven't gotten back to you. Did you send a generic inquiry or email Susan directly? I can email or call her if you like to contact you

I had sent a generic email and called them multiple times but I couldn't get a hold of them and no response. I sent a direct email to them this afternoon, after I posted here. I received a response! Thank you all for your responses and help. I am so glad to have found this community. The amount of support and guidance is amazing.

Hi ladies, great info. I was wondering how long in advance do you send out the info to you guests about booking their vacation package? We will be getting married in Cancun in April 2016, so when should ppl start booking?

Thanks so much

Depends. Did you get a group rate thru a travel agent or do you just hope people book alone? If thru a travel agent, the airline dictates the deadlines.

Thanks for your reply! No, actually, we just decided this week that we will be getting married in Mexico, so I really haven't started planning. We're in Toronto, Ontario, but most of our guests will be coming from Montreal, so i would probably need to find a travel agent from there first.

I know an AMAZING agent if you haven't found one yet. One of my girlfriends found her when she was looking for a TA for her Destination Wedding and she referred me to her after going through so many agents who weren't helpful.

She is super responsive, great prices and has been going above and beyond for anything i've needed/questions. If you haven't found one yet, let me know and I will give you her info :)

Hi, I'm looking for a good travel agent either in TO or MTL, could you plz send me the info? Thank you

You should be able to find an agent here who is able to book for guests in Montreal as well. Your guests don't have to live here to book with a Toronto based agent :) Most of the bookings are done electronically as well as the deposit system. I was originally thinking of having my wedding in April of 2016, but we decided to do it a bit earlier.

I'd say that a year is a sufficient amount of time when planning and booking. Do your research now and really think through what you want. Once you find a good agent it will be a lot easier. Once you decide on a resort, your group booking agent will set up a room block for your wedding so all your guests can contact your travel agent and book under your room block. Once you block the rooms, typically you have about 2-3 months for your guest to put a deposit down. Mine is booked with Air Transat and they only require a $50 per person deposit to hold a room/flight.

It will be A LOT easier once you have an agent who is helpful :)

Thanks so much for all the good advice! Many of our guest only speak French so I'm not quite sure I would find a bilingual agent in TO, but I'll look for sure. Did you work with an Air Transat travel agent or an independent company?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
