Calgarybride2015's Planning Thread 15/1/21 Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya

Recommended Posts

Well Kim, I am hoping this goes for me too. I am hoping that the sand, sun, (and the little bit of champagne I have while getting ready) will relax me. I am a softie though. If someone says as much as congratulations I tear up. Really. I wish there was something I could take to make me tougher. Lol

I feel you 100%, I am pretty proud of myself all around!!!

not being an emotional mess and also letting things go and giving up control!! I am a control freak by nature.

can't wait to hear all about yours.

Cute video :) I think it captured the moment perfectly. I'm so glad you didn't end up cutting the train off your dress! It looked gorgeous :)

I'm enjoying the planning process a lot. I will sure miss it when it's all done. I still want the day to come but I'm trying to savour each moment nonetheless :)

I think any destination wedding ceremony's last too long. Imagine we do all this planning for a 10 minute ceremony. Haha that's why I am hoping to have one hell of a reception...haha

that's why I'm basically planning for the reception. The ceremony will be nice but it's so short that I'm not going to spend more than the necessary effort on it haha :P

Juan had this ceremony last week where they get recognized as Engineers in our province. The second I saw him I started tearing up. All I thought was, "Oh God, how will I keep it together for the wedding?!" This degree cost him so much blood sweat and tears that I just got super emotional. I couldn't believe this was finally happening!

Thanks!! It's far from professional but the fact he taped it for us makes it super special :)

That's great for him - congrats! A girl I know, her husband just finished mechanical engineering and got his ring.

Shawn just told me he was surprised I couldn't see him welling up. He said he had to fight it ... Hard. Glad he could to help me haha

Hey! Thanks! I actually got married at the Grand Sirenis so unsure who's review you read :)

I loved everything about my day ... And week.... I just wished I stressed less about the little details like table decor that didn't mean much at the end of the day!

Married life is well, the same as before hehe it's a neat feeling though :) wish I could do it all over. Oddly I've longed to go dress shopping again haha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
