Cabo Azul 2015

Hi Everyone,

My fiance and I are looking into Cabo resorts for a December 2015 destination wedding and Cabo Azul is one of the possible venues. We love the look of the place, but many of the contract details and policies are extremely concerning. Given the recent hurricane I haven't been able to speak to their wedding coordinator on the phone, but after reviewing the PDF's she sent, I'm worried booking here is a bad idea.

Does anyone have any recent information and/or experience with booking a wedding here? I'm specifically looking for tips on the following items:

  • Alcohol policies: has anyone negotiated an open bar or changes to the above and beyond wine/champagne/signature cocktail costs?
  • Vendor Fees: are outside vendors allowed and if so, is there a fee?
  • General Satisfaction: did you have a good experience with your wedding? What do you wish you knew before booking?
  • Were there any hidden costs?
  • How much was your total Cabo Azul costs? We will likely have 45-60 guests.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Mandi - welcome to BDW!

A quick search of the Cabo boards revealed some older threads about Cabo Azul, but I didn't see anything recent. You may want to search further there: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/38-destination-wedding-in-cabo/

I'd highly recommend working with a travel agent who has experience with destination weddings. Wright Travel is a great choice - you can contact them via the link in my signature. They can help you with travel planning as well as many of the wedding planning questions you may have as you choose a resort. I know @@TammyWright (owner of BDW & WTA) is very familiar with Cabo.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
