Scottish Wedding

Hi there, my fiancé is from The States and we are getting married in Scotland next year. We have a lot of guests traveling over to Scotland from America and its proving to be a bit of a night-mare helping organise hotels, accommodation, directions etc. I have seen a U.K website called WeddingHand which links your venue to the nearest hotels and gives an accurate map to the venue so I guess all the family in The States can access the site and see all the information they will need of the day. Just wondered if anyone has ever used the site (or similar) and was it successful?

Regards Lealea

Congrats and welcome to the site!! That is definitely a destination wedding!! And what a wonderful place for it!! Where are you having it? I have family in both England and Scotland and I know unless you're in a really large city, there isn't the proliferation of hotels the way there is in America, and the price structure is very different as well.

I don't know that I've ever seen anyone here using the webiste you mentioned, but I'm sure if there is someone will pop in with a reply. What date is your wedding? There are quite a few UK brides on the site, but doing it the other way round.... getting married somewhere warm either Mexico or Jamaica.

You could still definitely take a look through the site and use the search bar to see if there is anything that pops up that might help you out with your plans!

Good luck and happy planning!!

Hi Lealea and congratulations!

I haven't used the website you mentioned, but are you getting married in one of the cities or out a little bit? From the sounds of it the site gives links to google maps, which isn't a particularly exciting feature, imo. If you're getting married in one of the cities, you should have plenty of selection. But, depending on where your venue is, the selection of alternative hotels or b&bs might be very limited.

Do you have a coordinator over there? They might have a list of appropriate accommodation they could give you?

Hi there I live in Scotland, and I think that you should contact the venue where you are getting married as most of the hotels now have wedding coordinators and they will be able to supply you with directions for all your guests and information regarding accommodation to suit all budgets. They will help you to book nearby hotels if needed and give you any other information that you need. Good Luck with your plans Scotland is a beautiful country. X

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
