Any Valentin Imperial Brides? Recent Past/present?

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of locking down a location - Valentin Imperial Maya July 2015! I haven't heard back yet from other resorts but Excellence also recently provided me with wedding package info. However, I think the price for room stay at Valentin will be easier on their pockets.

Have to admit, I am very anxious about committing to a location! As much as I would like to get the ball rolling on this planning process, I'm hoping I'm making a good choice here!

Most of the forums for brides of Valentin are super old and haven't been touched in a while. Anyone recently married here or will be soon?

Hello! I am also a VIM bride, getting married there March 2015. I have visited the resort 2 times prior however, once in Feb 2012 and just this past October. You have made a wonderful choice and I don't think you will be disappointed. I have tons of photos of the resort and am happy to help if there's any way I can.

@ Your comment made me feel so much better! The fact that you've been there more than once and decided to marry there says a lot. I sent in my info to make my deposit today :-)

So far their communication with me as been excellent which has made me feel pretty good about working with them. I know I will have questions as I think more in detail about the planning so I will definitely be reaching out for feedback!

@@Lia33 Yes! We actually got engaged there in October.  :D I began dealing with the wedding department right after we got engaged and they are always timely with their responses and always so willing to help and answer my 1000 questions! Happy planning!

Thanks @ !

Question, are you using a TA? I'm on the fence and wondering if it's really necessary to bother with. What about outside vendors - photography and DJ? Looking at the Blue Lens photography the resort uses, they seem decent! I know some resorts people end up hiring else where.

I'm trying to avoid increasing costs with outside vendors but want to make sure the resort services are good quality!

@@Lia33 Yes we are using a TA. We didn't want to originally, especially my FI, but ultimately we decided that with everything else we have going on it would be best to have some help. She negotiated a pretty good price for our group so I would say its definitely worth looking into. Guests will still ask you ALL the questions in the world but it is nice to have an outlet to refer them to and someone who will set deadlines and follow up with your guests for you.

As far as vendors, I believe for the most part we are sticking with what the VIM offers. I did look into some other photographers in the area but on top of expensive packages, the outside vendor fee is pretty steep so it really comes down to your preference. Blue lens has a facebook page that I found really helpful in making our decision. You can find several VIM weddings there, along with other weddings at resorts in that area. Ultimately we feel comfortable with using the on site photography services because the quality of their work is good and they are shooting VIM weddings day in and day out so they are familiar with the resort and have the experience to know which locations photograph best. A friend of mine was also married at the VIM a few years ago, and she used Blue Lens. Her photos helped us in our decision too! They came out amazing!

I definitely agree with you, with all the costs we have to take into consideration, keeping the outside vendor costs to a minimum is important.

@

I'll definitely stick with Blue Lens and I'm planning on speaking with a TA early this week :-)

Have you heard anything about VIM's house DJ? I believe its RLS Audiovisual, DJ Party Rod? I checked their Facebook page but there's no video and no one has any reviews. I'll most likely still just stick with them for the sake of not having outside vendors but it would be comforting to know if anyone has ever worked with them lol

@@Lia33 good luck with the TA. Hope it goes smoothly for you!

As far as RLS/DJ Party Rod, I am not sure if they are on site all the time or just for weddings. On my last visit in October, I did notice that the DJ seemed better than our first visit in 2012 and I liked the music selection and we had a great time every night!! Just not sure if the nightly DJ and wedding DJ are the same company.

I did decide to go with them for the wedding! WC stated they have been doing VIM weddings for about 2 years now and she gave me a timeline and request sheet. Seems like I will have a lot of control over what will be played (and not played haha) and how I would like the reception timeline to go.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
