We got the last slot for our date which is a 12pm ceremony but our reception is starting at 5pm. Hopefully I won't have trouble with the ceremony part since it's high noon! LOL.

I'm still ordering lighting and whatnot to be on for the 5pm start of the reception

We vacationed in riviera maya in December. If I am recalling correctly the sun set pretty close to 6. Only reason I remember is because of our dinner reservations at Riu. I don't remember seeing a sunset, just daylight and night. I'm actually worried about this myself. My ceremony is at 6 in june, I want to be able to get sunset photos without it being night already

So far 79 adult guests + bride and groom + 13 kids = 164 room nights. Focused on planning without stressing.

Congrats on your Dec wedding coming up in our magnificent Mayan Riviera, MBK!!! yes, sunsets here are really fast, so prior planning is important.

Here's a link to the Cancun sunsets in Dec 2015 from our webpage: Cancun sunsets 2015  which shows the sunset ranging from 5:05 to 5:17 in Dec 2015

This is a suggested timeline that we've found works well in the flow of your wedding day time line....

    (Assuming a 3pm Ceremony time.)

1pm – Guys/Girls getting ready (MTM photographers split up to cover both at the same time)
3pm – Ceremony (Both MTM shooters work in tandem to capture your ceremony with artistic style!)
3:30pm  – Family Formals and Wedding Party
4pm – Newlyweds (plan to capture the couple  for 1 hr. Hopefully we will be shooting 1hr to 1.5hrs before the sunset!!!)
Newlyweds often plan the cocktail hour for their guests while we shoot the newlywed images
5pm – Reception start. If you like, often we arrive a few minutes early to capture the reception site, do a cake cutting and first dance.

That is how we recommend a wedding day unfolds. Again… you can add more or less time to your package to accommodate your needs!

We also recommend to our wedding couples that the optimal time for scheduling the newlywed photo session (usually happening after the ceremony during the cocktail hour which entertains the other guests)  is 1 to 1.5 hours before sunset, to get those magical lighting conditions that will take your breath away!!! examples seen here....enjoy!!!

Hello! We decided to have our cocktail hour at 3, ceremony at 4, reception at 4:30/5. We will make sure to have all of our photos done before 3pm so I think we will be fine (fingers crossed).

    Thank you to everyone!

I like that you are having your cocktail hour before the ceremony. I think that's such a good and unique idea
