Meeting Outside Vendors

My fiance and I are heading down to Mexico in a few weeks to scope out some venues and in reading all of the comments from you lovely ladies, we're now considering hiring an outside photographer and DJ. For those of you who are (or are planning) to do the same thing, are you meeting the vendors ahead of time? Or will all your communication be via email/phone? I just feel like we're already so strapped for time, seeing 3 resorts in 6 days. We really want some time to relax too.

Hello jeffandrobyn,

Lucky you as you are able to visit before your wedding.  As a wedding planner in the Riviera Maya I would honestly say its not necessary to meet with them especially since you can always arrange a skype meeting with them before your wedding.  I am certain you will book a photographer and DJ that best fit you.

Happy scope venue :)

Welcome to our forum community, jeffandrobyn, and Congrats on your upcoming Mexican destination wedding!!!

Joyce makes a good point - there are lots of really great professionals available in our area, and you can usually get a pretty good feel for what they're like via email or skype communications.

I also like your wisdom about catching some relaxation time for the two of you - smart! all work n no play....and all that :)

There are excellent reviews of outside vendors here to help as well: Vendor Reviews

...It's always helpful to hear other wedding couples'  experiences + perspectives of vendors  you may be considering. When choosing a photographer, it's key to find one whose style resonates with your and touches your heart - that's THE One for you :)

Wishing you happy research, and a wonderful site visit/vacation coming up in sunny Meeexico - Enjoy !!!

for some added inspiration, here's a magical "moment that matters" captured at an Engagement Session in beautiful Playa del Carmen......with more at the album link here: Playa del Carmen Engagemnent Session

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
