Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm getting married at Dreams Palm Beach July 2015. I also am booked at Jellyfish for my reception but I am debating that choice now that Mayte isn't there.

@@kellymiller hi kelly.. sorry it has taken me so long to reply, was waiting on my date being confirmed. We are having a civil ceremony at 4pm! I was told that the minister tends to take bookings for mornings so when I completed the reservation form at my travel agents, I made sure that we requested an afternoon time.. guess we got lucky! x

I am getting married at DPB  may 22,2015 and i will also be having a civil ceremony. Its more to deal with but it was important to us.

We will be getting married at DPB in June 2015. We stayed there in 2009 so looked no further when choosing the hotel, it is a beautiful place!!

We chose the garden gazebo, because it can be pretty windy on the beach! Pool side location for the reception :)

Is anyone out there have a civil ceremony? I feel like most weddings tend to be symbolic?

Hello everybody! I am booked at Dreams Palm Beach for Feburary 21st, 2015! My wedding coordinator is Johanna, but she dosent seem to respond to emails very quickly. Has anybody had a wedding there before, and do you have any tips or ideas?

Congrats! From what I have heard the wedding coordinators answer email by date of the wedding, so the further out it is the longer it will take to reply. Once your date gets closer they seem to be very good at answering quickly!

Everyone is quick to respond to questions and its an easy way to share information or get questions answered quickly. It's a closed group but you will be added if you join. Just search Dreams Palm Beach Brides, or something like that and I'm sure it will come up!

Hi Angela.. nice to hear someone else is having a civil ceremony. It was super important to us to see this through as well! I am not sure whether it will be more or less romantic given it's going to be translated from Spanish to English. I've seen a few videos and haven't been too sure about that, but the most important thing is we will be Mr and Mrs McKay from that moment on.

We haven't started dealing with the paper side of things yet so have a lot to get through!

I was informed that Johanna is currently out of work. She was apparently involved in that large bus accident a few weeks back. I was told that her brides are currently being dispersed to other WC.

We have actually decided to sign the paper work that morning for before the ceremony and than have our WC perform the symbolic that afternoon. For me signing the paper work the day of doesn't make too much of a difference. Also , someone gave me the idea  ( which she did) of the bride and groom standing on opposite sides of a wall while they signed the paper work so that they do not see each other before the wedding!

As far as the paperwork I think I may go through WEDO to eliminate any stress. When i asked my WC about them she said they were very good and reccomended.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
