@shellyn  Thank you so much for all this info.  Your pictures are STUNNING!!  I'm pretty sure that's the gazebo I'm going with.  Such a beautiful spot.

Hello. we are planning a 2015 wedding at the excellence punta cana, where we have vacationed many times.

I looove this resort and the people there are amazing and since my fiance and I have been vacatoning there I would love to have all our closest friends and family there for our wedding. we're thinking Sept 2015.

I'm going to be there the end of Oct (2014) on vacation with my fiance and future mother and father in law. I want to plan to meet with Emy for a quick overview of the wedding packages. Any suggestions for what specific questions I should ask while I'm there in person?

I want to have the wedding at the EPC but should I be looking at any other possible adults only resorts in the area?

Thanks!

Natia

We're getting married in PC at the Excellence on November 12th.  I'm starting to freak out by reading all of your posts.  I was thinking we had this covered since it's just my fiancé and I (no guests) but after reading your posts, I'm thinking about hair and make up and music and photography and videographer ... YIKES!  It's both of our second marriages so we're not going all out, just a simple beach wedding between the two of us and a party when we get back home.  It's great to listen to what you all have to say!  I'm thinking I should probably call the spa now (as opposed to when we get there) to book something.  Right?

I'm so excited for you, Jannelle!  We'll have to peek at your wedding on the 8th. :)  We're flying in on the 7th.  I know you'll have tons of family with you but maybe we should meet at some point for a wedding toast to all four of us!  :)  That would be so much fun!  42 people?!  That's incredible.  You must both be well loved :).  I can't imagine planning a wedding from a distance like this and having guests.  The more I hear, the more I realize there are so many people who do it!  It's crazy!  What time is your wedding?  Do you think I should call the spa now?  I should, right?

We are flying from NJ. We arrive 11/5. We are doing a symbolic ceremony. I didn't want to risk a delay in paperwork. There is a couples treatment, hair style and make up included in my wedding package. We are going to do the couples treatment but I don't really need the hair and makeup. My hair is really short and I'm just putting a flower in my hair, but I'm going to keep the appointment in case I can't get my hair straight because of the humidity or I can't get the flower to stay, etc. I also don't need the makeup appt because my sister just graduated from makeup design school in NYC. I asked them if I could swap those appts for mani /pedi, but they said no. I'll probably just get a polish change on the wedding day.

NJ?  Wow, you're close :).  We are doing a symbolic ceremony too.  I work for the court system so we arranged for a judge to marry us before we leave the day before.  There was way too much paperwork and it was so confusing and not cost-effective to have it translated and whatnot.  We're a little bummed about it, but we're really not going to make a big deal over it.  I guess we'll just have two anniversaries!  My hair is long but I have no idea if I want it up or down.  I think a flower in it will be perfect!  Maybe I'll chat with your sister about the makeup design school in NYC.  I have a daughter who may be looking into hair school and wants to go to NYC.  She's going to be a junior in high school, so she has to start thinking about it.  Who are you going with for a photographer?  Did you decide on a restaurant to do your reception?

Definitely, she will be there Friday to Wednesday. We are bringing a photographer friend with us. It really allowed us to get the most bang for our buck. We can't have a reception in a restaurant because we are too big. I'm leaning towards the beach. What time is your ceremony? It'll be beautiful and peaceful! That's how I pictured mine, but its starting to get drama filled.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
