Cayo Santa Maria April 2014 Brides

Hello,

I thought I would start a thread for brides on the cayo santa maria strip (MLD, Iberstar Ensenchanos, Royalton etc.) I am getting married at Hotel Cayo Santa Maria. I am looking to chat about photographer options in this area! I am not sure if I should use the hotel photographer or if there are other options in the area?

Thanks,

Jennifer (bride to be April 17th, 2014 4pm:)

Hey Jennifer!

I am not getting married in this part of CUba, but I am getting married in Varadero. There is a photographer based of Matanzas (just outside Varadero) who does travel in CUba for weddings. I am not sure if you have heard of  him but his name is Alex Quesada. I have hired him for my wedding in May. You can search him on facebook Cuban Wedding Photographer Videographer. I know he can book up pretty quickly so not sure if he would be available but you may want to look into him as an option!

Hi,

My fiancee and I are planning to get married at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria in October 2015.  I wasn't sure if there are any other options because the resort is on an isolated part of Cuba meant for tourists.  You could try e-mailing the wedding coordinator to ask or if you're going through a wedding planner here maybe they could offer some advice.

Hi Ladies,

Did any of you bring a photographer with you? We booked and put down a deposit for our photographers and now they have contacted me and are saying they may not be able to come as they are worried about having their camera gear confiscated and that they are looking into matters.

I'm freaking out, our wedding is less than six months away. Is it illegal to have an outside photographer in cuba or do they just need a permit?

Thanks!

Hi again ladies, we are getting married Nov 21 and our wedding photographers have cancelled on us officially. Anybody use a cuban photographer other than the one at the resort?

I've contacted Alex and he is unavailable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
