Blue Venado Brides---post here!!

Recommended Posts

Thank you for the reply! We ended up getting a pretty good quote from Daymar regarding having our wedding there and we are 99% sure we are going to get married there - just trying to narrow down a date, which we are doing this weekend. I swear this is the most stressful part – trying to ensure your nearest and dearest are going to be able to come and making sure the price is good for your nearest and dearest. FI wants to get married this November/December which gives me 9 months only. FUN.

Don't know if anyone else is still following this topic, but we have officially booked out wedding at Blue Venado! I would be interested in talking to other brides who are having their wedding here! :)

Yay! Congrats! We actually just came back from a site visit to tie up weddings plans. We are having our reception there on May 5th,2014. Less than two months away!

When is you wedding date?

That's so exciting! Our wedding date is November 11th of this year :)

I LOVE the venue. I seriously cannot wait to have my reception there, I'm so excited for you too! What food did you end up going with if you don't mind me asking? Sorry I might have questions for you!

Just a few days after mine (April 25th)!  We should all talk about potentially sharing decor elements!

We are still deciding on the venue.

But it looks like we will be doing:

Canapes for Cocktail Hours

Dinner

Appetizer/Starter:

Shrimp Bisque

Main Options:

Meat-Steak with Black Truffles and Foie Gras Sauce

Vegetarian- Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli

Fish- Undecided

Dessert:

We are actually just to have our wedding cake as dessert.

Have you guys narrowed down food options?

Ohh that is a possibility!

We are waiting for a quote on the coordinator. We are weighing the possible cost of having items bought and rented there versus us bringing down wedding decor.

Have you started working on decorations already? :)

lol not at all. I guess we still have 8 months to go, just taking the wedding coordinators lead on this and just booking things as they come up - going to narrow down a DJ and entertainment these next few weeks and hopefully reserve some decor. I'm bringing down some of my own just because the savings outweigh the hassle here.. Found 2.53 cent table runners - good enough if I am using them once! And my cousin works at pier 1 and can get a discount on these lanterns I like, so why not. I am going to rent some lighting from MrsHK on here and maybe a few other things as it will start to get heavy if I bring too much down!

I've heard really great things about the shrimp bisque on here.. I'm thinking we may get that for our starter. Did you get a 3 course meal or 4 course? I didn't know if you could have a choice between 3 different options for meat...

Hi!!! I'm new here and been readign all the post regarding BV. I'm on the fence on the location. Does anyone know anything about their preferred vendor paradisus weddings. I haven't seen any reviews here. Wondering if I should find another coordinator. Does anyone know anything???

I didn't go with Paradisus, I went with Joyce from Dream Weddings, you will find lots of excellent reviews on her on here, I'm happy with my choice. Kristee from Fresa weddings has excellent reviews as well, I would check her out.

Daymar is also very wonderful, she is the wedding coordinator there and she will work with whoever you choose. I know her and Joyce have worked previously, which is awesome since they already have a working relationship. I believe a few other brides on here are using Joyce as well. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
