Hello ladies,

I will be getting married Sept. 1, 2013, and have selected the Pearl Shimmer Wedding package which comes with a photographer. I know a lot of you have selected an outside photographer. Can you guys recommend one for me? Are they less expensive? Professional? Good?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Welcome to our forum community, jessduran11, and Congrats on your upcoming Moon Palace Wedding!!!

About your question re resort photographers vs bringing in an outside one......Here's what one of our latest wedding couples had to say about their decision on that topic.....(with more at their full review here)

"Man, did we hit the jackpot! I knew that I wanted to bring an outside photographer into the resort for our wedding, instead of using the resort photographer. Nothing against resort photographers, I was just worried about a language barrier and getting what I wanted.

Plus I wanted to see my exact photographers past work, and we didn't know what photographer we would get the day of our wedding bc the resort doesn't promise the one whose work you like. I knew I wanted more candid photos than posed photos and I was finding a lot of posed pics while searching past resort weddings. I happened across Lincoln, during my research, and loved his work "

If photography is important to you, we highly recommend you invest in a professional who will deliver your "moments that matter" in a photographic record you can cherish for a lifetime - and share with friends + family who aren't able to attend your dw.

There are numerous professionals in our area who will do a great job for you! The key is to find the one whose work resonates with you and touches your heart - THat's the One for You :)

Wishing you happy research and that your Wedding Celebrations are Everything you Dream of - Enjoy !!!

Here is what we have found the Moon Palace has in place as their outside vendor policy - which other wedding couples may find informative.........

Moon Palace: We have shot the Moon Palace many times now and havenâ€t had a problem. Weâ€ve had to spend the night twice and most recently we are only required to have a day pass. They have their own photographers on location and push hard for you to use them. From experience here, if your package includes video and photography there will be ALOT of photographers fighting for space.

If you hire us it is best to cancel the photographer included in your Moon Palace package. Moon Palace has a policy of no outside vendors. They will allow you to get around this rule by telling them that you are bringing in your own “guest†to shoot the wedding for you. They may require you to get us a day pass or tell you your “guest†must be booked into the hotel for the night. This is just how the Moon Palace works but will allow us to capture your wedding as your guest. We have been that “guest†many times now.

1000

All the best with your plans, everyone - Cheers !!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
