Mansion/Estate/Hacienda in CR

Hello,

My name is Nati and I recently got engaged 2 weeks ago. We have decided on getting married in CR. We would really like a mansion, estate or hacienda to have both our ceremony and reception for about 100 guests. Water view and rain forest back drop would be best as we don't really care for a beach front property. I don't know where to start. I do know I need to hire a great wedding planner asap. Any recommendations are truly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Nati!

Pura Vida! :)

Are you thinking of an approximate date? 2013/2014?

We're planning to do site visits this coming September (2013) and interviewing wedding planners so that we can write articles with pictures for BDW Costa Rica brides... So I'm wondering if that's too late for you :)   My husband Rob & I are wedding photographers in Punta Cana and are planning to move to Costa Rica in the near future, so we're starting to take bookings there.   Hugs from the Caribbean,    Katya.

Hi Nathie! I too am planning a wedding at a villa, and I am looking for some general tips from others who have done this in CR. I have found some great possibilities, and think I've narrowed it down to a private villa in Haciend Pinilla. But I would definitely suggest to start by looking on vrbo.com and homeaway.com. You can search by location and then narrow it down to the size house you are looking for. You'll be overwhelmed by the options. Good luck, and please share your progress!

Have you considered looking around Manuel Antonio?? It's a mixture of all the things you're looking for...rainforest, water view...water access if you want. There are great little restaurants around there and I know they have some great American wedding coordinators in the area who's English will come in handy when dealing with the Ticos (who tend to live on "Tico-time"...they'll get to it when they get to it).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
