Make-up Artists

I wanted to leave a note to any bride that is getting married in Jamaica and looking for someone to do their make-up.  I was married on June 7 at Iberostar Rose Hall and Rashel Edwards did my make-up and it was AMAZING!  I cannot tell you how thrilled I was with it and how many compliments I got.  Her airbrushing stayed on all day (even lasted until the next day!) and my lashes lasted for a few days as well.  I wish I could hire her to be my fulltime make-up artist; I have never felt as beautiful as she made me feel on my wedding day!!  Rashel was so sweet and listened to everything I wanted, she was very professional and really made me feel calm and in good hands.  If she is available for your big day, please do yourself a favor and book her, you will not be disappointed!

That's great to hear. I booked her for December. Do you have pics of how it turned out? What look did you go for?

so glad you booked her, you will not be disappointed!  i did a natural smokey eye, she knows what she is doing and what looks best so i didn't give her much direction, just sent her one picture and it came out perfect.  here's a picture, let me know if you have any other questions!

I contacted her via FB as some had suggested, I send her a deposit of $170 US and I leave for my wedding in 3 days and despite sending a few msg's to get in contact with her I have not heard a thing. Hey Ladies, 

Just wanted to give an update in regards to my last post on here......I was freaking out a little.......ok a lot! I posted in hopes that someone else had run into this issue and would give me some reassurance. Shortly after I posted this, I heard from Rashel and everything was sorted out. Rashel and her assistant did our hair and make up and everything turned out amazing! They were both on time, super sweet and we all got exactly what we had asked for. The airbrush make up lasted all day and night and was perfect. In that heat I wouldn't want to do anything else. She really is worth booking if you are on the fence at all......if anyone wants any photos, let me know!!

This post has made me officially decide not to go with Rashel because although she has responded to my emails, she hasn't been very accomodating or forthcoming with information. I was considering overlooking it as not everyone has the best customer service and she does have mostly great reviews on here, but I had reservations. I am now going to look into other makeup/hair artists. Good luck and enjoy your wedding in a few days. Remember, planning stops on that day. Then you just let go of what happens and enjoy it all- the good and the unplanned

Did you end up booking someone else? If you haven't or if you were still contemplating at all, I did speak to Rashel before leaving for Jamaica and everything turned out great. She really was super sweet and I loved my make up!

Thanks! It turned out pretty. I'm excited to work with her. I'm thinking of a smokey eye look myself.

This is great to know! I can't see your picture yet but hopefully soon I will be able too!! I am hopefully getting married at Half Moon in October or November 2013!! But I had heard the spa does a really good job of makeup... However I am still concerned! Airbrush is definitely the way to go and it's great to know that there is another option with cherise! Thanks for the information

I used Pretty Faces Makeup as I felt the most comfortable with Peter's pricing, quality, and customer service. Both Peter and her hair stylist (so sorry, I forget her name) were great. They showed up an hour early and ready to work. We definitely had to give them some guidance on color choices and hairstyles, but everyone seemed pretty happy with how it all turned out. I absolutely loved my look  They also weren't required to pay a guest pass to get on resort so that made it even cheaper, which I was happy about.

Hi ladies, I'm back from my dec 20 Jamaica wedding! Rashel Edwards did my makeup as well as my brides and I can't express enough how AMAZING of a job she did!!!!!! She is beyond professional and such a sweetheart! But more importantly her work is seriously something to brag about!!!! I lovedddd my makeup!
