Hi all! Me and my OH have been engaged for just over a year and are planning to get married 2014. We are looking at Mexico or Antigua...any suggestions for hotels? Ideally we want to get married on the beach and stay at an adult only resort! We will be having around 15 friends and family with us, there's just so much to choose from as I'm a bit picky! We don't really want a sandals destination but any help or tips you can give will be much appreciated!!!

Well, we haven't actually booked anything yet, but were considering either Mexico or Antigua. It seems as though Antigua is the winner as:

 

a) It's a country which bears significance to s (my father was born in Antigua)

B) It seems a lot easier than mexico to get married

 

We have narrowed it down to blue waters  or curtain bluff. Still haven't decided though.

 

what are you thinking so far?

Yes Antigua does seem to be a bit easier to get married! I'm so fussy lol, I have seen a few in both that I like the look of, blue waters and cocos hotel were 2 of our faves in Antigua! Are u also getting married in 2014? It seems that there's so many options, it's hard to pick!

My fiancé and I got engaged at sandals Antigua! It is a beautiful resort and the water and beach are so pretty as well. I would not be much help for wedding planning at that particular resort, we are getting at beaches in Turks and Caicos, but I can try to answer any questions about the resort itself. Happy planning!

Hi Carla, 

 

welcome to BDW!! 

 

Many brides who choose Mexico for their DW will also choose to have the legal portion of the marriage done back at home, and just have a symbolic ceremony in Mexico.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
