May 2014 Bride????

Recommended Posts

I am newly engaged, and have decided to get married May18, 2014.  However, I am having a hard time determining which all inclusive resort in Punta Cana . I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions with regards to narrowing down a great location. My fiance is 50(his 2second marriage) and I am 40(my first).  I would like to be able to have a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, and a private reception with decorations and some type of music.  The music can be a DJ or a sound system to play an IPod.I would also like a resort that has some type of night life.  My guests love to have a good time and party. We thought it would be nice to go away to get married.  All the resorts that I've researched have some enticing packages, but I'm fighting with narrowing it down to at least 2 or 3.  I do plan to travel early next year to do a site visit.  I thought planning a wedding at home(NYC) was difficult.  This DW planning just as difficult.  I appreciate you all and your comments.

Thank you!!feedback.gif

Of course I am going to recommend my resort... Majestic Elegance. It also seems to be very popular. You can get married on the beach or at the Gazebo. they have doration packages to choose from or you can bring your own items to be set up. You can do a free dinner at the Sea & See and the Asadito Steakhouse for up to 60 guests or you can have a private dinner. The are more pricey so you will notice many opt in for the semi private since it's almost the same. the private dinner 70pp which includes venue fee, basic setup, buffett dinner, and open bar.

What I am doing.. 6:00 Ceremony at the Gazebo, 7:30 Semi-private dinner at the See & Sea. 9-11 reception at the Wet Bar. I would have liked a 5:00 ceremony time, but oh well.

If you go with semi-private dinner it's all free and included. And you can do a private reception at the Parrot Bar or Wet Bar for $500 per hour which includes basic setup, venue fee, open bar, and sound system to plug in your iPod.

Symbolic Ceremony Fee: 1250.00

Let me know if you have any questions on this resort. Also, we have several foreums within this one about Majestic Elegance.

I'm in the same boat!  We are looking for April 2014.  I'd rather have the wedding and dinner off the resort, but the only place that keeps popping up is the Jellyfish restaurant.    I know someone that got married there already so I'd prefer somewhere different.  I can't find much info online though.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
