    Was the cake pretty? 3 tiers or 2 tiers? How many choices? My wedding is June 2013. What are the extra prices? Are the archs plain or should I do the gazeebo instead? What the color choices?

 these are the free ones.  If you contact your wedding planner she will send you the other options for an upgrade.  I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. 

       

      I have the gazebo booked already, however -  I found this gazebo at the spa at the Club Negril resort, and you can have aceremony here, but have to wait to request it until you arrive.  I'm nervous about waiting until last minute, and I'm also nervous about going to the other resort to get married... Any thoughts?

       

      Here is that gazebo:

       

      As far as other prices, here's what I have:

       

      Chair cover with bow $12 without bow $9

      Boutonniere starting $15

      bridesmaid bouquet starting $60

      wrist corsage starting $30

      rose petals bag $40

       

      Additional guests (first 10 free)  $12 each

      Open Bar (per person) $15

      cocktail hour (per person) $30 ........shouldn't the drinks be free at an all-inclusive resort?

          congratulations to all of you!

           

          we just returned from our wedding the riu club - i realize it's not the TB, but I'm sure similar rules apply. we brought our own photographer down with us (she is a friend of ours), and both her and her friend brought all of their equipment. there was no issue with them being there as our photographers and we didn't have to pay anything!  

           

          i'm not sure what the gazebo is like at TB, but at the club it's quite close to the walkway, so people can walk by, stare, listen. we had our ceremony further down the beach by the fish sanctuary with the arch. it was absolutely beautiful and very private. we then used the gazebo for a photo shoot at sunset and private beach party after dinner (that we set up ourselves for free)... 

           

          we actually opted to bring silk flowers down, as I had heard rumours of wilted flowers by dinner. our flower girl did use the fresh bouquet provided by the RIU, and it really did wilt by dinner time! i was really happy with our silk flowers, and they were actually much cheaper than the florist. 

           

          our cake was one tier vanilla (the free option), that we added silk flowers to to dress them up a bit. i am sure you can ask for more elaborate cakes for a cost...

            Awesome! Thank you for your advise! I am bringing silk flowers too, specifically so I can have it for my AHR.  The cake wasn't anything spectacular looking, but I don't like cake anyways, so I don't mind.  Curious how you got everything to Jamaica with you.. did you ship anything?  How did you go about your private beach party?  Is this what you did as your reception?  We were thinking of gathering at the pool side so then we would have the bar real close, and bringing an ipod with a speaker system.  Where was your photgrapher from?  I'm bringing my own too, but the price is getting to be higher than getting someone local in Jamaica.  Also, did you do a TTD session?!  I can't wait! :)

              Timnlaura101213 - the cake really was basic. Just vanilla, no tiers - but we also aren't cake people so we were fine with this. We did manage to score extra weight for our flight down for free - 50kg! We opted to pack all of our decorations and gifts into moving boxes (we had 2 large moving boxes) and flew those down with us as our second piece of luggage (we each had one large suitcase too). This actually worked out perfectly, as we could just break the boxes down and not have to lug everything back home with us. 

               

              For the private beach party (yes, this was our reception after the dinner) - we just brought our own decorations, ipod and speakers and dragged chairs out to the gazebo. Created a bar using supplies from our room mini bars. One of our friends offered himself up as our bartender, and worked as a runner every hour to the lobby bar and coming back with TONS of mixed drinks. the bartender actually gave us a huge dishwasher tray to carry everything. We did ask our wedding co-ordinator if we could set this up - and seemed like they could care less, as long as they didn't have to do anything... I'm sure partying by the pool would be just as great - but maybe slightly less private. 

               

              Our photographer was from Toronto, and is a friend of ours so it was pretty easy. It worked out to be much cheaper than hiring someone from Jamaica. We didn't do a TTD - as I'm hoping to chop my dress up into a cocktail dress...

                Our plans are very low key ;) ceremony at 4 on beach then meet at lobby bar or guests can go to room to freshen up then dinner at 630-830 then we are letting our guests decide we are either hanging out on the beach with iPod and speakers with cigars and have drinks maybe a night swim or catching some nightly entertainment ;)

                  This is my second marriage. My first wedding really wasn't the way I wanted it to be. I even want to ride a horse in my wedding dress on the beach....(if possible). I am going to try and get as many things on the plane as I possibly can. Does anyone know if there is a dance floor on the beach? I also want a saxophonist. My cousin is a photographer, but I just can't afford to pay her way. Airfare is getting expensive too.

                    One month from today, we will be on our way to RPTB, getting married on February 27. I'm so excited!! Has anyone had the salon do their hair/make-up? I received the price list from the spa, and it is a little pricey.....just wondering if it is worth it? I'm nervous about trying to do it myself with what the humidity does to my hair, but nervous about having them do it. I'll definitely take pics with me. Anyone have any experience with this?

                      Hello Everyone,

                      Congratulations to all upcoming brides and those who have married already! I just booked our wedding for March 1, 2014 at the Riu Tropical Bay. I am super excited and extremely nervous. I too saw the view of the wedding on the beach and had a horror dream about it. My only comfort is the hope that once I speak to the event planners onsite, we will make sure to communicate our (mine ) concerns. We booked the Caprice package however I know I will want a lot more than that...decorations, live music, flowers, and private reception in addition to the provided diner. I welcome any thoughts and experiences!  Cheers
