Does any one have any suggestions on flying from DR (our wedding site) to somwhere like Turks and Casios or Jamicia for our honeymoon the day after our guest leave? i was looking online and couldnt find any flights flying direct from an international location to another international with out a long layover back in the states. Also any good recomendations for a honeymoon if we do stay in DR i want to stay in a different resort the second week

We want to do this too! I have been having a hard time finding a good location from DR as well that isnt too expensive or that we dont have to fly in circles to get to a place, as in no direct flights. I look forward to the responses and thanks for posting!!!

I looked into it - there aren't alot of direct flights anywhere.  You'd most likely have to fly back to Miami or San Juan to connect.  With the airfare so high lately, we decided against and are going to take the drive instead to Zoetry, which is more romantic and secluded then staying at another mega resort.  It's more expensive per night but I found actually cheaper than flying elsewhere and the resort looks amazing!

We also thought about flying to another island to honeymoon a few days after the wedding. But we opted not to because we didn't want to spend yet another day traveling. However, Puerto Rico is a great option, as is Cuba which are both short flights. My FMIL very generously is paying for us to use her timeshare. We are going to La Romana about 2 hours away from Punta Cana and are staying at Dreams. La Romana is a great option because it offers several activities outside of the resorts whereas Punta Cana doesn't.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
