Hi Megan,

Our guests loved the reception dinner.  We chose:

1st Course:  Mediterranean Salad with Shrimp

2nd Course:  Lagostine bisque with Choux

Entree:  Beef Tournedos or Fish Roll stuffed with cream cheese

Dessert:  Chocolate Dome with hazelnut sauce and Tres leches wedding cake..

Delish!!!

Hi Ladies,

I am trying my best to book my wedding with El Cid but am having no luck getting a contract sent to me.  I got in touch with Deyanira a week ago with no problem and she sent over an information form to help prepare the contract.  My travel agent and I emailed it back the same day.

Now its been a week and we can't get back in touch with her by email or phone.

Is there any thing I can do differently to get her to contact us in the same day??

Thanks!
April

Thanks so much for posting the photos! I am getting married in May 2014 at el Cid and it is quite difficult to organise without that much information available.

Have you guys decided the location of the wedding yet? gazebo, beach or garden? I am not sure yet which one to go for as I am a little concerned being outdoor might be too hot.

We used the jetty for the wedding ceremony (wonderful breeze and picture perfect!!!) and we had our wedding dinner and reception on the beach.  I don't think it was hot after sundown.

Just beware of the garden.  One photographer warned me that he photographed there once and noticed too many bugs because of the grass. Guests had to use repellent all the time and many of them had tons of mosquito bites all over.

Has anyone had any issues with pricing?  We booked a year and a half ago and put our deposit down at that time.  Our wedding is next month.  My understanding is that a deposit is so that you can hold that current price and spot.  Since then the price of the dance floor has went up (even though the website still has the cheaper price) and even though I was told one price (and have showed emails to prove so) they are asking that I pay $144 extra.  The dance floor is pricey to begin with so I don't appreciate having to pay extra and is putting a sour taste in my mouth.  Just wanted to know if this happened to anyone else (I hope not!)?

Hey all!  we are booked for our wedding at the Marina el Cid on April 25, 2015 and I'm wondering what wedding package to go with?  We are doing a symbolic ceremony (civil in Canada before we leave) and leaning towards ceremony on the jetty, with dinner & reception on the beach.  We will probably meet the platinum room requirements for the complimentary dinner.  But I just can seem to see what the major differences.

Also for any recent brides, do you have any good/bad advice to share?

thanks!

I'm booking my wedding for March 28th, 2015. I don't have any advice as I'm also just learning more...please share as you make decisions and find out more information. I'll do the same!

Great to hear from you!  I will definitely share as I plan!

How many people are you expecting and have you decided on a wedding package yet?   We are expecting 50-75 people and have decided to have the ceremony on the jetty with dinner/reception on the beach, but I can't decide on whether to go with the elite or the premium wedding package.

I'm not sure how many people we are expecting yet...it's Spring Break week for our wedding, so things are filling up fast at El Cid! I am not sure on the wedding package...my family is really not interested in a formal sit down multi-course meal...plus I have quite a few kids under 14 coming. I believe i read that the kids meals are half the price, but still not sure I want to spend that much per person. I will have to see what our options are with Denyeria.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
