Need help with choosing a photographer.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm definitely new to all of this 'wedding planning' stuff but also, I'm a bit pressed for time.  I've been searching for the RIGHT photographer for a couple of months and quite frankly, I'm overwhelmed.  The more I search, the more confused I get.  Our wedding is in July, so the longer I wait, the less options I have to choose from.  We're looking for a photographer to photograph our wedding and also, TTD session the following day.  We're not looking for prints, just a DVD with full resolution photos (both original and edited).  Also, trying to stay reasonable on pricing.  I say reasonable because although I do like Del Sol's work, I think their pricing structure is a bit steep for what we're looking to spend on photography.  I like Sascha Gluck's work and find his pricing to be better in the range which we're looking for.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Jessica K.

Two things you you need to know is ONE: do you like their work? and TWO: do you like the person who will be shooting?

It's all about how you feel about the person taking the photos that will really affect your photos. Go with your gut and see if your gut is swaying you. I am bringing a photographer from home because I know my fioncee is very shy and knowing the person ahead of time will make it easier for all of us.  I know its a tough to find that perfect match. It should feel like when you knew that dress was the one... which BTW is still on my to-do list...

Hi there. I think that is a Palace resort and their in house photographer is Smile Market. I was very hesitant to go with them at first because of old posts that I read on here but i gave it a shot and I can't tell you how happy and grateful I am that I did. They charged me $2000 for so much and you don't have to pay ANY outside vendor fees and the pictures are so gorgeous. It comes in this gorgeous package with amazing albums all hard pages with stunning pictures and extra 100 pictures printed and 25 Black and whites and a bunch of 8X10's not to mention the CD comes in a gorgeous canvas picture case. For that price I also got the 4 hour DVD with a videographer all day and a 50 minute webcast so my family at home could watch. This is the most unbelievable value and you can tell them anything you want them to do. Bring pics or send them the types of pics you want and they will do the exact same thing. You will be very happy if this is a choice for you. my photographer was Israel and he was absolutely amazing and I couldn't be happier!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
