Outside Photographers allowed???

Recommended Posts

Hi,

2012 February wedding planned at Barcelo Maya Palace in Riviera Maya.  Has anyone recently got married or is getting married very soon that used/is using an outside photographer? who did you use? I keep hearing that outside photographers are not allowed and that you have to use 1 of 2 photographers that the hotel offers.  I really need some input on this as time is winding down!!!

Thanks in advance :-)

Hi Brandie,

Your wedding coordinator at the hotel should be able to advise you of the outside vendor fee. Most hotels do work with their own vendors, if you would prefer to use your own photographer you will most likely have to pay a vendor fee. They range from $45.00 to $600.00 depending on the resort or the vendors you are looking at having of your own. You can ask for a link to the hotel's photographers website to look at their work. If you would like to use someone different they will be able to let you know of the vendor fee that they charge. I have used Barcelo in the past and it was $400.00 for the photographer outside vendor fee however this can fluctuate so you would want to confirm with the hotel wedding coordinator directly to ensure you are aware of the correct fees. I've done many wedding shoots at the Barcelo Maya!  It is a gorgeous resort with so many different facets and feelings.  I believe the outside vendor fees varied between $300 to $400 USD.  Your wedding coordinator would definitely be the right person to contact.  You can check out some of my shoots at the Barcelo Maya on MY BLOG!

Happy Planning!

Hi Brandi,

You can ask your wedding coordinator about the fee for outside vendors, she is the one that can definitely help you. It's a great resort with a lot of locations for excellent shots, Here is a link of a wedding video taken at Barcelo so you can take a look!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
