Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica

Recommended Posts

I have a wedding booked at Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica April 25 2012. I was wondering if anyone has any tips who recently got married at this resort. Is there bars opened after 11 onsite. How safe is offsite for my guest. I was wondering about the menu selection? did any couples have a preference? and should I go with the upgrade to have a private reception and meal? did anyone bring own music or did they get the DJ?

First and foremost I'd like to say Congrats!!! Im actually looking to book something around May or june of next year, but Im vecoming frustrated because I've been calling and leaving messages last 2 weeks and no response....do you have an email contact?

I did stay at this resort last year in May and  Imust say I LOVED IT! I had absolutely no complaints. I witnessed a small wedding taking place at the gazebo and i said I must come back. The bars at the resort are opened after 11 at select areas, and as far as "offsite" the resort, I'd just recommend taking a cab from the resort and talk to the drivers! They will let you know what's best most of the t ime. See, I'm from NY, and my fiance is Jamaican so no one ever messes with us LOL.

Hi Boots! I am getting married on April 21st 2012 there as well! We have 65 plus people going so we are closing down the resturant for $2500.00. We are arriving on the 16th and my group will be flying out on the 23rd, then we go off to Sandals for our honeymoon. The disco is open after 11pm other than that I think everything shuts down. Our dinner starts at 6.30pm and we will have the entire resturant till closing and that includes the band. That way we can have speeches and dancing as well. I have a hard time getting responses out of Chandlyn and Donna lee seems to be a complete wrecking ball! I believe if you close out the resturant you dont have to pay the extra $30 dollars per person for the meal its a staight fee! Ive heard you can rent the gazebo and a band but then you also have to rent the bartenders! So the 2500.00 works better for me at the resturant! Washrooms right there no long walks lol! I am still trying to find out if you need a long form birth certificate or can you use a short one! It doesn't say one their forms but when you look at the legal documents it says it must have your fathers name on it!

When do you arrive?

Angela

Hi There,

I'm getting married on May 1, 2013.  I'm so excited. We're going with the Unforgettable package and hoping to have around 50 guests present.  I'm hoping that someone can help me with a couple of questions:

- did anyone get married on the beach? If so, can you please post a picture?

- Did anyone have their reception a the Piscis? If so what what was on the menu?  My fiance and I are thinking of booking the Piscis but not sure if to go with the Italian or Garden Grill menu? Also, do you know it there's an additional cost for the menu andd open bar?

- what about the flowers, boutnieers etc...

I know my wedding is a year away but I'm the type of person that wants to know what my options in advance. So any help or advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Talk Soon!

If you look two post up there is the link to another thread, which is way more populous then this with many past and future brides who will be able to better answer your questions.

There was a past bride who was married on the beach and there are some photos of her ceremony on the other thread that you can look at.

We had our reception at the Grill and we loved the food.  I think the reception at the Piscis would be great, but I beleive you have to have a minimum of so many people (not sure what that number is) in order to have your reception there.

We went with the free flowers included in the wedding package (boutineer for groom, my bouquet) and we purchased my MOH bouquet and an additional boutineer.  I didnt really care about flowers so we went with the free option.  I know most of the other brides choose to upgrade their flowers.

I just had my reception at the Pisces! It was an awesome place and would do it again. The only menu that comes with it is the Italian, which the food was above and beyond! Everyone loved it and we had 72 guests. I paid 1700.00 and it included the dj. They only serve beer and wine and you have to request that they continue to serve after dinner and they will free of charge. If you want hard liquor it extra, what I did was i got everyone to get it at duty free and they will serve it for you, they do charge a corkage fee but its still cheaper and better liquor. And they never charged me but I did tip them well! They stayed open an hour longer than they had to. It was amazing!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
