On-line wedding dresses

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Like you I also fell in love with a wedding dress online. It was a seller on Ebay with the dress being shipped from China. They had 100% positive feedback & all seemed to be good.  A friend of mine had also ordered her dress online & it was fantastic.  (Different seller)

Anyway, to cut a long story short, it shipped 2 weeks earlier than expected.  I was so excited.  When it arrived it wasnt boxed but was in a plastic shipping bag.  It looked 'kind of' like the picture & the quality was horrendous.  The sizing was completely wrong, despite me having had my measurements taken professionally.  To say I was gutted is an understatement. I have now bought a dress from a bridal store locally.

That said, I have read lots of reviews on here where brides have left fantastic feedback for dresses bought online & hopefully my experience is one of the raritys rather than the usual.

I'm also getting married on 4th August.  Not long now!!!

A lot of the companies that ship from China show a picture of a dress from a magazine and then replicate it. So  it really depends on the quality and level of skill of the seamstress to make a good replication. There are some dress sites online (other then ebay) that you can find amazing deals on dresses!

anyone have good websites that they were pleased with and would be willing to share?  I want a second dress for my TTD session but I don't want to spend a lot on it!

I haven't ordered but here are a few sites that sell pre-owned dresses. If you're going to be trashing it you likely won't care if someone has already worn it:

This site sells brand new dresses for weddings and they're super cheap! I probably wouldn't get my wedding dress from them but I'm looking to get my TTD session dress from them:

Hi,

I wouldn't use my experience with Ebay as a reason not to buy an online dress.  Some are fantastic. I just had bad luck.  Try some of the websites suggested.  Word of mouth is the best recommendation.

We're getting married at Sandals Antigua.  How about you?

I got a dress online http://www.weddinggowns-dresses.com/beach-wedding-dresses-20091024220229-wgd-bwda-141.html. I bought it for $269. It took about 5 weeks to be delivered on my doors step.I got it last Friday (March 05'11). In the mean time I found another dress that I fell in love so I purchased than one as well. I will be happy to sell the dress for $100 plus shipping. I am a size 4P. Let me know if you are interested.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
