Finally booked our weddding in on May 7, 2012 at Blau Varadero. I am expecting 20-35 people and am considering closing out an A-la catre for us exclusivelly. The hotel told me it would cost me $750 from 6:30pm to 10:30pm. Has anyone done this? is this worth it? Did they decorate your reception area for you? The hotel answers questions based on priority and it is too far away for my wedding to get their attention it seems.

    ANy help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

We had about as many people as you and they just sectioned off a portion of the restaurant for the wedding party - it's kind of located behind some short walls and the string quartet. It was perfect, definitely private enough and it's a quiet/formal atmosphere anyways so other guests are not going to bother you.

We weren't charged anything, and they don't decorate it much unless you ask them too, but it already looks nice. We brought decorations with us and told our wedding coordinator we wanted them spread out over the tables. You can also ask her to put flowers on each table.

We are getting married at the Blau in January 2012. We have 60 people coming with us. I'm trying to sort out what I need to bring down for decorations. The resort has been really good about getting back to me on everything with this one exception. Does anyone know how many people are at each table? Would they combine tables into larger tables? I would really appreciate any information I can get.

I'm getting married there in January too. I emailed them all the info they asked for but lately they haven't even let me know if they received all the info that I sent to them. I here that emails take them awhile from a friend who got married over in cuba last year they just have slower internet.

I think they mostly provide your decorations, I here they don't have many choices so if there is anything you want for sure I would bring it yourself.

We are getting married on the 18th so we'll be there at the same time!

Mabiel actually just got back to me today. She said that the tables are usually set up for 4 people but they will group 2, 3 or 4 together. I'm bringing my own centerpieces down so I'm trying to figure out how many I'll need. That, and I need to figure out how I'm going to arrange seating for 4 sets of parents, the wedding party and guests. She said that they normally seat the bride and groom at a sweetheart table though so that helps with the planning.

I asked a few more questions earlier on but she just told me not to worry about it, that we would meet the day we get there to sort out what we need. I'm trying to stay relaxed about it but it's so very soon. It's getting harder!

I'm going a January bride as well. What date are you ladies getting married? Our wedding will be off site but we'll be at the Blau with around 60 people as well from the 11th-18th.

Well thats neet. We are going up a week ahead of time so that all is done and talked about so that when friends and family start to arrive don't have to think about anything else. just hang out with them and have fun until the 19th. Thats pretty neat that we will be there the same time. hope your decorations go well.

Our guests are flying down from all over Canada. The western group will get there on the 15th and the eastern group on the 16th. Everyone is going down for a week. I can't believe how soon it is! Do you guys know anything about the menu for weddings? Do they have a set menu or would everyone just order from the normal a la carte menu?
