Beach Wedding Dresses

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else planning to wear less formal dresses for a wedding in the sand?  I'm looking for dresses in cotton or linen, in tea length or shorter, and having a hard time!  I can't imagine that there isn't more demand for something more beach-y!  Any ideas?

I would check out department stores like Macy's.  They have a ton of short white dresses that would be appropriate for a beach wedding.  Some of my favorites (sorry, not in cotton/linen):

Or if you want super casual and are set on cotton:

I like the first dress from Macy's! Very cute!

I thought about getting less formal dresses, in tea length too, since I'm getting married on the sand too; but that idea got a huge thumbs down from my fiance. But I found a beautiful dress that is a bit more formal but still fits the beachy theme. I love it and can't wait for it to come in!

You can go to Brides.com to see a gallery of different wedding dresses. Here's the link to the short wedding dress gallery:

Good luck in finding your dress!

I'm planning on a simple casual dress.  I feel in love with a convertible dress and think it will work perfectly.  That way I can have a long gown during the ceremony and short during the reception.  I will have my veil on all evening at the suggestion of my MIL who said she wants everyone to be able to identify the bride! :-)

Your speaking my mind!! I can't seam to find a super fun beachy dress in natural fibers (full length) that I like. All the "beach casual" dresses are made of polyester and made cheaply. Since you are looking for a shorter dress, try Lilly Pulitzer, she makes superb quality palm beach wear.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
