Gran Caribe Real Brides 2012

I just booked my wedding for March 28, 2012 at the Gran Caribe at 4pm.  I love the chapel, but we don't want to have a catholic ceremony so we reserved the gazebo for now.  They said we couldn't have a non-catholic ceremony in the chapel no matter how much extra money we offered.

Are any march brides worried about spring break?  Has anyone that did a site visit notice if the gazebo area is quiet?

We also would like to hire our own photographer.  Did anyone find out if it was cheaper to get the outside vendor a room or do you still have to pay the $350 outside vendor fee?

I read a post somewhere on this website about florists.  I'm now also considering getting my own flowers.  The post recommended MayaDisenoFloral.  The pictures looked great on the posts, he got great reviews, he was on-time, and stopped by days before the wedding to show girls samples.  I guess if you meet them at front gate or lobby you don't have to worry about outside vendor fees.

Hello fellow gran caribe real brides,

I have hit a bit of a slump. My future husband and I are getting married in January at the Catholic chapel. Afterwards, we will have a champagne toast, and a reception at one of the restaurants. Unfortunately, we will only have 10 guests so we can't have the private reception. I've always dreamt of having the opportunity to dance with my husband at our wedding. I have explained this to my coordinator, but she has said that it is not possible to do this without the private reception. Any ideas?? :(

Hello Ladies,

I am also a GCR 2012 bride. My wedding will be July 23, 2012, our ceremony will be at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel and cocktail hour and reception at the beach!

Future Mrs. Heintz, I am debating taking my own photographer to our wedding. The photographer that did our engagement photos has quoted me a really good price. I really don't want to pay the outside vendor fee, so I might just say he is a guest and not mention him at all to the coordinator!

Hello my fellow Real Resorts brides!

I am actually getting married at the Royal in Cancun (on the beach), but my reception is at the Villas Terrace at the Caribe on 08.10.12!! I am super excited and have booked the date and times, and am now trying to figure out what our honeymoon plan should be so we can book the flghts/rooms!

I have also decided on a legal/civil ceremony. My WC told me we can do our own vows and add a sand ceremony. That is pretty rare from what I hear, so its worth it for me to have the wedding day ACTUALLY be our wedding day! ;)

Anyway, congrats to all of you!

I am getting married 3/3/12 and I am very worried about Spring Break. I have heard mixed reviews regarding the hotel in general from February-March with Spring Breakers but nothing regarding the gazebo area during weddings.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
