Locked-in Group Rates for Carnival?

Hi Everyone,

I'm wondering if any of you have any luck in locking in the rates for a Carnival Cruise. The rates I'm promised will be expiring soon, and not everyone has booked...and it seems all future bookings will be on new rates...can cruise rates be locked in?

Thanks!

now im not positive on this but from someone i know who got married on a cruise ship this is what she said...they'll give you the quotes but they exprire within a certain amount of time unless you put a group deposit down....usually about 10 people. so you can either gather 10 people or however many the requirment is or you can put it all down yourself and as other guests start booking the money you put down for all the deposits will go to the price of your package.

Hmmmm...... what we did was create a group booking and everyone had to pay a $25 deposit. Our travel agent was able to call Carnival multiple times to extend the deposit deadline. The last deadline expired in June, and when she called them to extend yet again, Carnival said they would honor the remaining rooms we had blocked off for the group at the current pricing for an undisclosed period of time.

I used a friend's mom who works for Expedia CruiseShip Centers. I'm in Vancouver BC though so not sure it would work for you to contact her, but here is her info anyway:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
