The Dress, Take II

So maybe I bought my dress too early...

I bought a traditional gown this summer-- very pretty A-line dress with lace and all the trimmings.

This is what it looked like when I tried it on:

When it arrived in October, I wasn't loving it... it just wasn't ME. But I figured that since I had already bought it (and it made my FMIL cry when I tried it on), I'd work it out.

Eventually I gave into my nagging fear and went looking again.

I found a very cute dress with lace & sequins just like the one, except it was fitted. I had always wanted a fitted dress but had been afraid since I've got serious hips. See?

I know the books & guides always steer curvy girls toward the A-line dresses but I know my hubby-to-be would love to see me in a dress that shows off the curves!

This week I found a happy medium. Sparkle and sequins.... a much lighter fabric... a booty-hugging shape that doesn't make me look like I'm struggling for air.... A gorgeous dress on the clearance rack of a local family-owned bridal salon!

Can't wait to get it fitted (the top part is too big) so I can see how beautiful it can be!

I ended up posting the first dress for sale... Wish me luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
