Anxiety Over Pregnancy

I suffer from situational anxiety as it is. But, being pregnant is really bringing it on and I am trying my hardest to not let it get the best of me.

Truth is, I am terrified. Not about being pregnant, having the baby or even being a mom. I am truly terrified that I will lose this baby. I do not know if this is normal, since I have never been pregnant before. I know a lot of hi has to do with the fact that we NEVER thought this would happen. We had tried for so long, it truly is a miracle to us. It is a blessing that I am truly grateful for. But the thing is, it seems too good to be true.

My best friend is also pregnant and due Sept. 3rd. This is the 3rd time she has been pregnant. The other 2 ended in miscarriage. I think because of her situation I am terrified it can happen to me also. Both pregnancies are truly miracles, hers that she has carried in to her 2nd trimester and mine because I got pregnant at all.

I have some health problems that also make it difficult for me and I really need to be careful. I have hypothyroidism and am insulin resistant, resulting from PCOS. I take medication for both and have read different info on taking these medications while pregnant.

I hope most of the anxiety subsides tomorrow after my first doctor's visit (it's only a visit with the nurse though). I hope they will check the heartbeat and stuff to make sure it is strong...I really do not know what to expect.

I am terrified to wipe when I go to the restroom for fear of blood...even though I know some spotting is normal.

Ughhhh.....I just want to relax and enjoy this and not get so anxious!

Did I mention I only have one and a half ovaries. I am glad they were working that day! :)

Wow, I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing all of this anxiety & fear about your pregnancy. It seems reasonable though, given all of the background. Definitely make a list of questions & concerns to address at your first appointment - information can kill the anxiety in my experience.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
