chantelle05
Hi! My name is Chantelle, I've been engaged since Christmas last year. My fiance and I recently changed our wedding plans from hometown to Florida and now to Mexico for cost reasons. We want a destination wedding because it will be more affordable. The things I want the resort to be are: - Family Friendly (lots of kids coming) - Have nightlife and "adventure" activities (I love being active... but don't know what's included at all-inclusives or what you have to pay extra for) For the wedding I would like to be able to hold a real reception for the people that are there, not just go to a restaurant and have an a la carte meal with the rest of the general public watching. That means a separate room, room for dancing. Any ideas would be helpful! We are trying to plan it ASAP.... thanks so much all you DW brides to-be and veterans! beaz2be
Welcome Chantelle!! Whereabouts in BC are you from? I'm from Vancouver. Always nice to see another local bride. There are so many amazing resorts to chose from and it can be really tough (I think the hardest part in the whole process). I know that the family friendly and private reception options were really important for us and they aren't an option (or sometimes a reasonably priced option) at all resorts. We ended up going with the Azul Sensatori and I feel really comfortable with our choice. Not sure that they have much in the way of adventure activities that aren't an additional expense - but it's a place to consider anyways. I'd suggest glancing at the threads for some of the resorts you think you might like and checking out if they offer what you're looking for. Good luck in the planning! msjulie5475
Welcome to the forum. I would write down your "must haves" in a resort keeping your guests' budget in mind and then talk to a TA. That advice was given to me and was most helpful. Happy planning!
