Frustrated and feel like I am moving backwards

Recommended Posts

So here we are and our Save the date have been sent out. We had no idea that we would get such a great responce. We have 35 people coming and another 30 more that we know will RSVP. The letters just went out a week ago.

I just found out our site choice cant fit the number of people in ceromony location. The location was also double booked so I had to change the time to earlier. No biggie but now they wont even fit. I found another great place in our price range that most should fit and it is alread book the whole weekend =( There is one time on hold however I wont know for 15 days if that is available.

We can't do a semi private reception any more because of the number of people so now we are almost forced to either say that they are on thier own for dinner or pay a large amount of money for everyone to eat and drink together at a place that we are already paying for food and drinks.

I have thought of an off site reception and they seem really expensive.

I am SUPER happy that we are getting so many guests but I just don't know how to adjust our plans.

Help!

I am struggling with this a little too however it seems that some places are cheaper than others. I am trying to chose between the Barcelo Maya Colonial and the Grand Pallidium Colonial. It seems from what I can gather that any guestlist over 11 at Barcelo will force you into a private function but 20 people are covered for the meal and it is 24USD for every one over 20. For the Grand Pallidium however they will accommodate up to 40 in an a la carte but if you go over 40 you will pay 50-60USD for every guest over 8. As you can see it seems to vary quite a bit. So I would be really interested to see what others say about large groups.

What resort are you being married at?

I don't know what the capacity is at your site, but from experience I can tell you that people indicate they are coming but don't count them in until they have booked a flight or hotel. Based on people who said they were coming, I was expecting 65 guests. We are actually having 48. Good luck with finding something that works!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
