How did you book your travel through?

I'm finally getting everything set and the next step will be to book our travel. I know that traveling to Hawaii can sometimes be pricey, so I am doing my best researching like mad for my guest to get the best price.

Where did you book your travel? Please do share. Did you buy online or use a travel agent?

So far the best price I've found for a multi-island trip (Maui then to Oahu) is through Costco or Pleasant Holidays. But my guest won't need a multi island package so there's will obviously cost less.

Thank You!

Amanda

Hey Amanda, I'm getting married in Maui in August. I let my guests book their own airfare and hotel/condo. I've never used a travel agent to fly to Hawaii - I just sort of stalk the airfare prices online until I find the best deal. I've kept in contact with the guests I know are coming, have been checking airfare prices online about every other day, and have been text messaging or emailing people when I find a deal. We're staying in a condo on Maui, so I let guests know on the invitations where we're staying, giving them website info for the condos, so they can book there and stay as a group if they want. I really liked the idea of booking a "group flight" - where you can reserve a number of seats on a flight and not have to give names or pay for them until right before your trip - but it didn't work out because our guests are flying on different days and from different airports in CA....

We originally went to a travel agent but we quickly learned that we could find cheaper prices on our own. After that we decided to let our guests book their own travel. I have a website so I suggested places to stay that were near us and in different price ranges.

We had quite a few closer friends and family who were going to be leaving and coming back at the same time so we booked the airplane tickets for multiple people so that we could travel together and sit together and that was a lot of fun. If you do book travel for others, remember that if you dont buy the tickets as couples and do so as one big group that most airlines will make the whole group check in at once which wasn't really convenient.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
