Halfmoon/Rosehall Resorts

Recommended Posts

Hey all! Has anyone had a wedding or is planning to have thier wedding at either Halfmoon Resort or Rosehall Resort in Jamaica? I'm just starting looking into a venue for a Spring 2011 wedding. I know Halfmoon isn't an all inclusive and their budget menu with all the options is quite confusing! Any info on these places or suggestions for others is welcome! Thanks!

I LOVED everything I read about Half Moon. Just seemed a little out of budget for guests...and possibly us too! I havent seen much inpostings here about Half Moon tho....I think its a little more high end in comparison to Rose Hall...which was also another resort I researched..I thinkt he deciding factors were cost and the 18 and over age restriction....(if I remember correct they dont allow children)

I also totallllly wanted to get married in Negril. But again, out of budget for guest, fi and I will go back there for a honeymoon to ourselves I think. I loved all the sandlas resorts, but again, restrictions with kids etc. Grand Palladium was another place we looked at..its fairly new I believe. My sister stayed there and loved it....we ended up with RIU Ocho Rios mainly because the price was right, it seemed adult, child, couples and single friendly-and had something for everyone..perhaps why its so popular........gluck with planning, cant wait t hear what you go with!

Thank you so much!! I researched some more about Half Moon and it is pricier than we would like and we will be having nieces and nephews there who are under 10 so a non-children friendly place wouldn't work for us. My friends got married at RIU in Ocho Rios and had nothing but AMAZING things to say about it!! I also received a very detailed email from Coral Cove today and they seem very reasonable with a lot to offer in their packages. What day in May is your wedding? I'm planning for May 7th 2011. Again thanks so much for the info! Your day will be amazing! Post some pics when you get back...would love to see how it went at RIU for you! :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
