WOW!!! You'll hate me if I tell you what we're paying, and our package includes up to 12 hours of shooting. But, I will say that Claudia's work is absolutely fantastic! And photogs are such a personal choice.

Hi taylor and amybermuda,

I'm not booked at AB yet but seriously considering it. I like how small it is but understand that it can cause complications with rooms selling out. Cecile (WC) at AB has been very responsive. I'm using Jennifer at Sun and Sand Vacations and am crossing my fingers that she gets a good room deal. I inquired about Claudia as soon as I contacted Cecile because they sent me to Lomas' site and she's on there. They said we had to choose one of the two photographers and I said I wanted to bring someone else in. I haven't heard back with a definite answer but will argue to get a good photographer. Do you know anyone who has used Caribe?

I do not know of anyone that has used Caribe. I would try a general search on the forum and see if you can find something. I'm sure there are people out there that have.

I highly doubt they will let you use Claudia Rodriguez. If you don't use one of their two preferred photographers, you have to bring someone from OUTSIDE Mexico. Sucks but that's the way it is.

Taylor,

I originally heard some restrictions about Mexican work permits, etc. to bring someone in from outside US. That was my first plan and when I was in communication with Dreams, they asked for Mexican work permit numbers, expiration, etc. so I stopped considering bringing a photographer with me from the US.

I think other hotels do start talking crazy about work permits but how will they know if he photog isn't your uncle or aunt!? I would use a photog whop has done mexican wedddings before so they know how to get into the coutnry.

Beleive me, Claudia is expensive. You should use Wednys photog!

Oh with Jennifer you are in good hands! She will get you the best deals I am sure!

Not all hotels require the paperwork. Karisma does. For my photog he said getting it was piece of cake. He went to the Mexican consulate in Detroit (I think) and it was done in a day. It wasn't much money, either. He didn't give me the specific amount, though. He paid for it himself since he considered it to be a good investment for future business.

Amyb is absolutely right! They'll never know that someone isn't a family member. We thought of that too late, unfortunately.

If you don't want to consider bringing one from the US then my guess is you're probably stuck with Caribe or Matias Cano. frown.gif

Amybermuda,

I saw your other post about Travel Impressions and when I spoke to Jennifer, she said they also use Travel Impressions so now I'm concerned about getting the best rates for my guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
