Royal Playa del Carmen help

Recommended Posts

I would love some feedback on a few things if there are any brides out there that had your wedding at the Royal:

Pictures: Are the photographers good or should you find your own?

Reception: What to dohuh.gif? Private on the beach? Should we get the DJ or is there plenty to do without paying the extra?

Who decorates the gazebo? Do we need to make our own programs and bring them?

Any other helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi Lynn and welcome to the forum :) There is actually already a thread for Royal Playa Del Carmen brides. You will see reviews from past brides as well as those of us who went on site visits and are planning now. I know it is a lot to read but when I first started I got a glass of wine and went through all the hundreds of threads and it helped so much. It answered every question I ever wanted to know about the Royal. You will see it, it's called Royal Playa Del Carmen Brides Were Kids Allowed.....

To help you get started the reception really depends on what you are looking for. If you are having kids at the wedding than it has to be private because the Royal is adults only (16 and up). It also depends on how large of a wedding you are having.

If you do not do the DJ than the other option is an ipod and you can play your own play list all night. So again it really depends on your preferance and than also considering who will take care of the ipod if you dont have a DJ.

The Gazebo gets decorated by your WC and staff. Once you get down there for your wedding week she will meet with you to make all your final selections.

The best advice I can give is def head over to The Royal thread and spend the weekend going through it. Right down questions and as you find the answer write them down. You will than be able to make the choices on what you want for your dream day.

Happy Planning :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
