Montego Bay to St Lucia

Recommended Posts

Hello all! Does anyone have any advice on how to get from Montego Bay to Jamaica w/o a ton of layovers? My travel agent has been searching as well and the best we can find still has 2 layovers and spending the first day of our honeymoon in airports...ughh...

I was thinking maybe a ferry or island hopper? Any thoughts.

Not available any longer on her dates without an overnight! The schedule was changed since she original booked the stay!

The other alternative that gets her in the same day is the MBj- MIA- SJU-SLU but it is a LONG day of travel with two layovers.

AJ, Caribbean Star/Sun and Liat used to do interisland between MBJ & SLU but don't offer them anymore. There were a few other smaller airlines but they look like they're out of business-websites are down-parked.

No ferries- it's open ocean and would take all day-possibly two. Lots of ocean to cover.

Waiting to hear back on a few private plane transfers but likely looking at $2000.00 on up for the transfer- it'd be about a two-2.5 hr plane ride on the smaller planes . It would be waaayyyy cool though!

Boy do I feel your pain...I see that we are getting married the same day. I almost tore my hair out trying to figure out how to get from the Bahamas to St. Lucia the Monday after our wedding. In the end, we have an earlier than I would like flight out of the Bahamas with about an hour layover to switch planes but was able to make it work by flying into one airport in St. Lucia and out of a different one on another date.

Take a look at Jet Blue...they fly to St.Lucia from some airports out of the South. Also...if the price is going to be too high to leave on your originally planned date, it may be worth it to stay another day if this works.

I hope you are able to work it all out. Good luck.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
