To All Costa Rica Brides - Early Ceremony Times

I cannot bring enough emphasis for the need to plan correct ceremony times. Remember that Costa Rica has no daylight savings. Our sunsets this time of year are at 5pm - lights out at 5:15. In the last month I have seen ceremonies start/end late leaving no time for the magic light during sunset sessions. Give us photographers & cinematographers a break and allow enough time with sunlight for photos in order to provide you with the best possible results. Our company loves working with ambient light not flash to give natural looking results.

Every year it's a struggle during this time when days are the shortest. Brides, move up your ceremony times and get the best photos on the most important day of your life.

What time of year are you talking about?

We are getting married in November 2011, and I am interested in knowing what time would be best to have the ceremony.

Is that the same in March?

I have requested 4pm for my ceremony as I wanted to also get some sunset pics if possible, would you recommend changing this ?

Hello there, sorry we have been gone from the forum for a while. We have been hired to do some weddings in the US. Back on monday. 

We will clear up all sunset and ceremony times for all of you

Ceremony times and sunset:

 

All too often this is overseen and ceremonies start 4:45/5:00 during this time of year (Oct-Jan) leaving little or no time for your sunset photos.

 

During November the sun is setting between 5:10/5:20

 

For March your sun will be setting at 5:30/5:40 check and see how hot it is for a 4pm ceremony Sallee and you may be able to push it a bit. Photographers should be able to wrap up a photo session in 20-30min.

What about July/August? What time does the sunset? Also in Manuel Antonio, end of July, is rain in the afternoon/evening pretty much guarenteed??

Sunset in June is 6pm, July 5:45pm.

Manuel Antonio is very tropical so count on the possibility of rain (rainy season in this area has already started - get a tent). Guanacaste gets rain a little later in the year. Weather has been wacky but we usually get an Indian Summer in July.
