Hi everybody. I am going to Varadero with a wide range of ages. 18 months to 73 years old. I wanted to plan an excursion for evryone to enjoy. We will be hoping to rent a tour bus to take us to Havana for a day. But I was thinks of doing something else too. And am at a loss as to what to suggest. I have heard the Catamran is great, but other than that are there any ther eco type tours that anybody could suggest? I don't expect everyone we are traveling with to go but I want to interest most. There are two that I was looking at, but am unsure of which is better. If anybody out there has tried these could you please tell about them or any others that might be of interest. We have no issues with renting a vehicle to take ourselves.

This excursion is planned for the first week.

The Cuban Safari....ride a jeep thru jungle and go snokeling in a cave, horseback riding.

The snorkelling adventure.... snokel in different location

Cayo Blanco... Catamaran, snorkeling, dolphin show

We are planning on doing our own version of the Rambo Tour. So we will be driving to Guanayara National Park, Trinidad, Cienfuegos, and Santa Clara before returning to Varadero. ( For this we will rent vehicle and probably be gone 2 or 3 days). This excursion is planned for people who are staying the second week.

I went to Varadero last year for a wedding, and the couple chose to do the catamaran tour to Cayo Blanco. About half the group went and we had a fabulous time!! It was for sure one of the highlights of our trip.

You get picked up around 9ish and it is a really fun day...they serve drinks on the catamaran and at the island Cayo Blanco (that made the day even more fun lol) and there is a full buffet as well. They offer a lobster tail on the catamaran for 10 pesos which was THE BEST I have ever had....totally worth it and my fiance and I still talk about it!

The guide for the day was so full of energy and on the way home we had a dance party on the boat. When we go down next May this is 100% on our list to do with our guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
