Honeymoon Locations

Hi,

I am getting married March 13, 2010 at Playa Esterillos. We are taking over MonteRey Del Mar. Small hotel but very cute and Costa Rican not touristy which is what I wanted.

But I am all over the place for my honeymoon. There are so many places now. I actually grew up in Costa Rica so I know all the locations, but there are so many new hotels.

I don't want Manuel Antonio or Arenal - both fabulous places for anyone else by the way, totally recommend both places, but that is where I always take my fiancé so I want something different. Something luxurious and secluded and a place where we can be pampered but have adventure.

Guanacaste is to far and hot for that time of year. We were thinking the OSA also, but that is far and very very secluded. Our top choice is Rancho Pacifico right now. Anyone stayed there for their honeymoon or have any suggestions?

I vote for Osa. Was down there last April and it was incredible. We drove from San Jose and spent the night in Playa Uvita ...was truly incredible. Not too bad of a drive. Isolated but perfect for a honeymoon. Wishing we didn't go recently so we could go back for our honeymoon wink.gif If you consider it I can recommend some places.

My favorite part of the country is Osa Peninsula. I hike across the Peninsula once a year (camping at the park stations) and then finish it off with some luxury .Lapa Rios is pricey, very nice. Next to it, Bosque del Cabo. Both are up on the Matapalo bluff with some truly spectacular views. You will be pampered but have options for some adventure, beach, fishing, etc. Further down the road is Lookout Inn. After the road ends in Karate you also have Corcovado Tented Camp or La Leona Lodge (more affordable).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
