I am getting married March 13, 2010 at Playa Esterillos. We are taking over MonteRey Del Mar. Small hotel but very cute and Costa Rican not touristy which is what I wanted.

But I am all over the place for my honeymoon. There are so many places now. I actually grew up in Costa Rica so I know all the locations, but there are so many new hotels.

I don't want Manuel Antonio or Arenal - both fabulous places for anyone else by the way, totally recommend both places, but that is where I always take my fiancĀ© so I want something different. Something luxurious and secluded and a place where we can be pampered but have adventure.

Guanacaste is to far and hot for that time of year. We were thinking the OSA also, but that is far and very very secluded. Our top choice is Rancho Pacifico right now. Anyone stayed there for their honeymoon or have any suggestions?

I vote for Osa. Was down there last April and it was incredible. We drove from San Jose and spent the night in Playa Uvita ...was truly incredible. Not too bad of a drive. Isolated but perfect for a honeymoon. Wishing we didn't go recently so we could go back for our honeymoon If you consider it I can recommend some places.

My favorite part of the country is Osa Peninsula. I hike across the Peninsula once a year (camping at the park stations) and then finish it off with some luxury .Lapa Rios is pricey, very nice. Next to it, Bosque del Cabo. Both are up on the Matapalo bluff with some truly spectacular views. You will be pampered but have options for some adventure, beach, fishing, etc. Further down the road is Lookout Inn. After the road ends in Karate you also have Corcovado Tented Camp or La Leona Lodge (more affordable).
