I found a picture of a cake I just love the only issue is that it has chocolate shells on it..... do you thing that they will melt and not work in the DR Thank for you input!!

I am making my shells with gum paste (I think that is what it is called) then they won't melt. You buy the gum paste from Michael's and follow the directions. It is what is used in making flowers for cake. Dries hard and will be easy to transport. Chocolate I was told by the baker would get soft and probably melt as well handling will leave finger prints.

gumpaste or fondant should do the trick for you. you can always get the pre-made wilton fondant at walmart, although it tastes HORRIBLE. you can find a good shell mold online or at a store like michaels or hobby lobby and then you just let it dry!
