STD and invitation confusion...small wedding and larger at home reception

So I'm trying to figure out what to do exactly about my save the dates and invitations.

 

We're having a small DW and we were not planning to invite all friends and family to come. However we were planning a larger AHR for when we return.

 

My question is what have others done in terms of invitations and save the dates? Do I create two STD and two invitations? Do I have to invite everyong to both?

I'm also planning a DW with just immediate family and a few of our closest friends, with a larger AHR to include everyone else. I'm going to make 2 sets of invitations one STD for our DW which will be boarding pass STD and an invitation to follow for those close family and friends. Then I'm going to have a STD and invitation separate for the AHR.
