Does anyone have any info on a rehearsal?

i don't necessarily want or need a formal rehearsal follwed by a private dinner. I'm perfectly fine with the wedding party gathering for about 20min to do a run through the day before.

Is something like this automatically included in a timeline? is there some sort of extra fee for this? Or do I just need to coordinate that with them when i get there?

After reading this forum, we have decided to not have an "official" cocktail hour. We are having our guests meet at the Baracuda Beach Bar after the ceremony where they can drink for free while we take pictures. Eva said we can use the cocktail hour credit towards our reception dinner. We will have the Mexican Trio that's included in our package play at the Beach Bar.

I'm having trouble deciding where to hold my cocktail reception. Eva is my wedding coordinator and after emailing her several times, her only response is the jacuzzi area for the cocktail hour. I'd like to see what other options that are available. Where are you ladies doing your cocktail hour and does anyone have any pictures of the different locations?

Thanks!

I emailed Eva about this recently and all she said that was closer to the date we can absolutely coordinate a rehearsal time with the minister. That's all she said though so I don't know any other details.

We are doing the same thing for ours but we are having guests go to the Lobby Bar while we finish up pictures.  We don't have any music in the lobby bar but our friends talk a lot so they should manage just fine. lol  We are getting a 2 hour credit for cocktails that we are adding on to our reception time as well.  (They double booked our reception site and had to move us and thats one of the ways they are compensating us)  More time for dancing! smile72.gif

Hey girl!

Thanks for the reply and answers...funny enough, Yamina has been a doll in answering promptly...almost daily!  I booked the Gazebo for the ceremony because I did not want to fuss with additional costs of a canopy...plus I love the Gazebo and how grand looking it is the way it is....:)  I was also able to confirm the pool deck.

Do any of you know if the wooden garden chairs are free to use like the banquet chairs?  I am bringing all my centerpieces decor, table cards etc with me in suitcases....I heard keep all your receipts for carry on luggage items you packed in case customs haggles ya....in case some of you ladies didnt read it in a past review.

Do you guys think its a bad idea to not have a DJ?  i mean $300 an hour is steeeeep!  What about if i load my ipod full of 4-5 hours of songs, rent the sound systems....and just have a friend introduce us...plus that would be more personal...any of you thinking to nix the DJ as well?

mnunez2!:  I am getting married the day you arrive...yes I am sure we will bump into each other! and ill be able to peek your wedding...:)  My original date was your date!  and they told me it was all booked up ;)  Thursday is good too though afterall...gives me the edge of being able to book alot of things freely such as locations since its not a popular day to get hitched.

The coordinators have been difficult to get in contact with however I keep hearing that they will be in touch with you closer to wedding date and manage to pull everything off. I have been getting most of my questions answered from this forum. I'm not going to worry about it because all of the past brides always have great reviews.  I will be arriving on 7/26/12 so I am sure we will catch each other. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
