we got married legally and you cant write or change that script, its set. there is a place in the ceremony where you can say something personal, but our guy didnt give us the chance, but we didnt have anything anyways, the ceremony they did was great, really heartfelt & i was happy with it. cant honestly remember what was said, it went so fast & was a blur of happiness:)

So you figure if they went really early then maybe they would make it back on time. We didn't chance it and the guys didn't think it was worth the extra fees. Also, our wedding was April 10 so it was a very busy time for the resort so we could not get the additional room for the grrom the night before. So we ended up just hanging with everyone all day hitting the spa etc... The spa is awesome! After my hubby to be took his shower he went to someones elses room to finish getting ready while the girls were in our room. They ended up at the lobby bar for a bit before the ceremony and it was perfect!
Yeah, after talking to some of the guys, it may be too much of a crunch the day of the wedding. Maybe they can do it the day before? I really hope we get the extra room for the groom. I thought that was one of the best parts! Also, did they do anything to your room for your honeymoon night or is this something you have to set up seperate? I really want a special honeymoon night! :)

Noonie - great review! I'm glad you were just honest. :) Helps us brides out! As for the bars and pools...did they stay open late? We are going to have a young adult crew going also and they will shut the place down! LOL! Did you get the honeymoon suite? If so, was it ocean front and what did you think of it?

for the rowdies, you will get complaints. we wernt bad at all, just loud, laughing & having fun. 2 of our friends were rolling each other down the hall on a room service cart & people complained. we had fun in the pool & people complained. you will have security guards watching you on the beach after dark if you choose to drink there. empty ur fridges & mini alcohol bottles every day to get re stocked cuz the bar shuts down at 1am, or order booze by room service. they also stopped serving us shots and took forever to bring drinks when we showed up for lunch. the service changed when they saw we were young & wanted to have fun. there are kids EVERYWHERE so its the parents complaining. when we walked to the pool the first day, i was concerned. TOTAL family resort, not geared for rowdies at all. i wouldnt have chosen a different resort but wish they had been a little nicer towards fun young people. we had about 40 people go out of their way to tell us how fun & funny we were & how they have never seen a group have so much fun & laugh so much.

My wedding is in October so MAYBE there won't be many families vacationing then! I've got people leaving their kids at home to get away and have a good time so I pray there aren't too many there!

Noonie- PLEASE share your pics when you receive them. I hired Claudia as my photographer and I'm so excited/nervous. I know she will do amazing, but seeing new pics puts my mind to ease. Was Freddy good at having you pose and stuff? I can't wait!!!

sorry to double post this but just hope someone may have the answers...thanks!

a few questions for those who have been married at DRC, or those who may just know the answers...

1) how much to tip Ana? and when is the appropriate time?

2) we need to buy table decorations and was thinking of going to Walmart in Playa Del Carmen, has anyone been there? Or other suggestions or where to buy candle holders (the glass vase type), flower petals, etc...

3) anyone else getting married around the end of May and would like to discuss sharing their decorations? Yes, this May! All of a sudden the wedding is here and there are a few last minute things we need to organise! Oppss!

Thanks!

Rachelle

We went over thanksgiving and there were sooo many people...including kids. I was a little worried about having my guests frustrated when we had our wedding in may. I think it is all about timing. We just left the resort. We couldn't believe how few people...including kids were there. It was so nice!! I would say that as long as you don't plan to go over a holiday or spring break you should be ok.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
