Where to dance after reception? Help! 3wks away

Recommended Posts

We're a small group (1cool.gif having a "reception" dinner at Cabo Surf and since we don't have a DJ or band there we were planning to go out afterwards- fiance and I are always on the dance floor acting like idiots at others weddings so we have to get some dancing in on our own wedding night.

Group ranges from college-aged brothers to our fun-loving parents- all up for dancing but don't want to take them to a completely crazy, spring-break, techno spot. Any ideas of where to go? Think everyone would love a place that played wedding-party music, oldies or maybe a good salsa band?

Would love if there were a spot in San Jose del Cabo because that is where our accomodations are, but traveling into Cabo is what wedding planner recommended.

Thanks for any suggestions- I'm going early so hope to check out some spots.

On another note, did any of you go out also and did you wear your dress?

We took our whole party of all ages to the Cabo Wabo in Cabo the night before our wedding. Lots of 80's tunes and fun dance music. They also had a band come on at 10 pm, though our guests preferred the DJ music. It's very touristy, but nice, and unless you go there during spring break or when Sammy Hagar is playing there, the crowd trended older.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions for San Jose del Cabo.

I would recommend Cabo Wabo as well. The older crowd will appreciate it more than dragging them to Squid Roe which is my favorite place to dance :) And why not wear your dress?!?! Think of all the awesome pics you will get, kinda like a mini TTD session. Have a great wedding!

Hello:

I just came back from Cabo, I went to look around and check on the everything I would need for my wedding. I stayed a couple nighjs in San Jose at a friends house.

She took me to dance to "El Red". It is a club in near to Cabo Surf, it is a restaurant in the afternoon. It is has an Open Terrance, which stays in the mood of a Bleach party.

Aslo we went to this other Bar, called the Old Villian. It is in Downtown San Jose. Was kind of empty, but it is also a terrasce. I am thinking about my rehearsal party there. But I am sure that if all your guests want just to enjoy time together, they can play the music you want and since it is a small place it will be like a private party.

Hope it helps!! Because it is kind of hard to move from San Jose to Cabo San Lucas at night, the taxis are rare and sooo expensive.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
