So the topic came up on a photography forum about who boudoir pictures are targeted to please & I decided to ask some actual brides. Many of us have our pictures shot in a "women's magazine" style not the seductive "mens magazine" style. If you watch ANTM, you know the difference.

 

Feel free to answer as many questions as you want. Also, you can adapt it if you haven't taken your pics yet but plan to.

 

1. Who were you really taking the BD pics for? Yourself or your husband?

 

2. What syle did you want for your pictures? Sexy & seductive? Glam? Elegant? Classy? Maxim-like sex kitten? Another adjective?

 

3. What was your motivation for wanting to take the pictures?

Reward yourself for weight loss? Motivate yourself to get in better shape? Have a record of how hot you were in your younger days? Make yourself feel sexier? Make your husband think you are sexier?

 

4. Who do you think enjoyed the pictures more? You or your husband?

 

5. Did seeing the pictures make you look at yourself differently?

 

6. Was the experience good for your love life?

 

7. If you did them again, would you do a different style?

1. Who were you really taking the BD pics for? myself. I'm giving them as a 1-year anniversary picture to mike (this weekend!!), but we don't really exchange gifts. It's something I did for me & giving it to him as a gift is just part of the fun for me.

 

2. What syle did you want for your pictures? I wanted a sweet, but sexy look. Mostly sexy just because of what I was wearing. My facial expressions & postures are mostly sweet & smiley.

 

3. What was your motivation for wanting to take the pictures?

I was rewarding myself for losing weight in BL5. I also wanted the experience. The girls on here that did BD pics sound like it really was a great experience so i wanted to give it a shot.

 

4. How do you think enjoyed the pictures more? I haven't given them to him yet so I don't know. I'm expecting to enjoy them more. I will probably look at them more often, but we'll see.

 

5. Did seeing the pictures make you look at yourself differently? yes, I forgot about my sexy side. The pictures made me feel more beautiful. I don't spend a lot of time on my apperance. Even the time leading up to the shoot I just felt sexier. After seeing the proofs I felt even better.

 

6. Was the experience good for your love life? yes, when i feel sexier it's good for our love life.

 

7. If you did them again, would you do a different style? nope

 

8. Do you think BD pics make sense for single women who don't have a man to gift the pictures to? I think so. They area great boost in confidence.

 

9. Did you care if your photographer was male or female? I only wanted to work with a female. I also think mike would be a little upset if a male took the pictures.

I took them for my husband for sure, but after the fact found that I enjoyed them as well. I look alot better then I thought I would and wish I was more comfortable getting them done and enjoyed it more. He absolutely LOVED that I did that for him as well, since he knows how much I hate getting my picture taken.

Hmmmmm, I hadn't really thought about it before hand. I love my photos, but sometimes wished there were some more tastefully risque ones. I would say that I wanted them to be sexy and classy.

Reward yourself for weight loss? Motivate yourself to get in better shape? Have a record of how hot you were in your younger days? Make yourself feel sexier? Make your husband think you are sexier?

I just wanted my husband to know how much I loved him. He loves photos of me and I am really bad and hide from the camera no matter when someone tries to take a picture, so I thought this would be the best gift to give him. From his reaction, he thought so to.

 

4. Who do you think enjoyed the pictures more? You or your husband?

I think we both equally enjoy them. He loves seeing them on the computer and I havent looked at them in a while, but when I do, I feel good about myself at that point. So it was a win/win.

 

5. Did seeing the pictures make you look at yourself differently?

For sure! I was surprised at how good a good makeup/hair person and great photographer could make me look!

 

6. Was the experience good for your love life?

I would say that it didn't really effect my love life really. But if it did in any way, it would def be positive.

 

7. If you did them again, would you do a different style?

I think I would mostly do the same, but add a little bit more risque shots in as well. I really like the nude silhouette shots, but hadn't seen any like that when I was getting mine done. There are lots of shots that I have seen since that I like and would've wanted to add, but I am still really happy with what I got.

 

8. Do you think BD pics make sense for single women who don't have a man to gift the pictures to?

Not really. Unless I am missing something here, but what would the reason be? I mean, sure it would be an ego boost, but an expensive one when it isn't a gift for someone else!

 

9. Did you care if your photographer was male or female?

My photog was a female and also a good friend and I was still a nervous wreck, so I am not sure that I would handle a male very well. Also not sure that my husband would appreciate another man seeing me so close to naked and vulnerable.

So I have not yet done by BD pics, because I don't want to do them until I reach the weight goal I fixed for myself... so it's not for the wedding, hopefully it will be for our 1st anniversary...

 

Here are my thoughts on it though.

 

 

1. Who were you really taking the BD pics for? I will be taking these pics primarily for me. Giving them to my husband will be great - a way to share them and I know he loves my body so it will really be a gift for him. But primarily, the pics would be for me.

 

 

2. What syle did you want for your pictures? Sexy & seductive? Glam? Elegant? Classy? Maxim-like sex kitten? A bit all of this except Maxim-like... what's for sure, I don't want anything skanky.

 

 

3. What was your motivation for wanting to take the pictures?

Reward for weight-loss. I discovered that having pics taken by a photog are a lot of fun, and make me look beautiful (not always the case with amateurs !) and I'm looking forward to the experience and to seeing me after all the efforts I will have made to get there !

 

 

4. Who do you think enjoyed the pictures more? Cannot answer this yet !

 

 

5. Did seeing the pictures make you look at yourself differently? I hope they will ! After losing weight (my target is 40 pounds), I need to get rid of the chubby mental image that I have of myself.

 

 

6. Was the experience good for your love life? I hope it will wink.gif by making me more confident about myself. and by making hubby see me in a different light, too.

 

 

7. If you did them again, would you do a different style?

Totally. I think it's important that every woman has the opportunity to see herself in a flattering light - and this can be one of the means to do it. Or, like me, a gift to yourself, or again, a funny thing to do between girlfriends !

 

 

9. Did you care if your photographer was male or female?

Yes, I definitely want a female. First, I could not feel comfortable with sexy poses with a man. Second, I would not want hubby to think of the guy that took the pictures he's looking at...

I wanted female because I didn't want DH to be uncomfortable

I originally took them for him but the experience was also very good for me. Seeing myself like that definitely made me realize that I need to keep the sexy in our marriage.

I went for sexy & seductive, but also classy.

For me, I think it was all of the above except for the rewarding myself for weight loss.

I'll be giving them to DH tonight but I think we'll enjoy them equally, since I certainly look at them alot & smile! LOL

 

5. Did seeing the pictures make you look at yourself differently?

Definitely...I don't think I ever looked at myself as truly "sexy". These made me realize that I do have sexiness in me...however deep down inside.

 

6. Was the experience good for your love life?

I can't say yet but I think they will be.

 

7. If you did them again, would you do a different style?

I'd probably do more Maxim type shots & definitely more risque shots.

 

8. Do you think BD pics make sense for single women who don't have a man to gift the pictures to?

I'm not sure that I wouldv'e done a BD session without having a partner to give them too but I know from my own session that I truly enjoyed the overall experience. It was quite liberating & eye opening in that it made me see my own sensuality. I think that everywoman should know the power of her own being...Geez that sounds sappy!

 

9. Did you care if your photographer was male or female?

I definitely wanted a female but may have gone with a male if I were doing a group session.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
