I went to Tripadvisor.com and got a lot of great reviews. Some aren't so good, but most are Wonderful. I think some people just can't be pleased.

Thank you!

If you are trying to keep travel costs low you want to look at AI resorts in the Dominican Republic, Yucatan Peninsula, and Jamaica. They will be the least expensive and the easiest to get to from NY.
You should look at resorts that offer free wedding packages so there is no cost there and ones that offer free semi-private reception dinners such as Riu Resorts. Then check out the DIY section and see if you think any of those things are doable for you because that is a great way to keep costs down but still appear to have a very elaborate wedding.
Thanks, you provided me with some good ideas!

Our wedding package is about $2200 which includes tax, ceremony and open bar/buffet reception for 1 hour for up to 20 people and photographer. Each additional person we add is $22 per person but that gets paid a few weeks before the cruise. Picture packages are also additional, up to $3,000. Our cruise starts at $859 per person plus tax, so for our room and the ceremony/reception, it will be less than $5,000. We decided on a cruise rather than an AI resort because we have 3 teenage brothers between us, and there will be more for them to do on a cruise.
My husband and I love cruises. This is a great idea!

I think you should first determine your budget, then talk to one of our ta's and find out where you can go w/ that money. the travel agents on here do DW so they are better choice to talk to. then you can determine if AI is what you want, or private non resort. Do you want beach, do you want jungle, do you want gazebo. make of list of things you'd like and go from there. our ta's can find a place that has the things you want around your budget.
I will pay for their accomodations, but the airfare is up to them. We would like something with the beach in the background under a gazebo.

Thank you so much sweetie! smile29.gif

I am getting married at the RIU Palace Riviera Maya and I am having the ceremony in a beautiful gazebo with the beach in the background. My guests are paying around $1000 per person and that includes airfare and hotel (an AI). Here is the blog with pics of the wedding gazebo. RIU Weddings Playa del Carmen Mexico I hope this helps you and good luck with your planning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
